Polished Stone Christmas

Here's a Christmas card I was experimenting with. Not sure if I like it or not... I think the card base should be a different colour.

Anyway, I used polished stone technique for the background with Always Artichoke, Mellow Moss, Bravo Burgundy and gold re-inkers. I stamped the tree from Wondrous Gift on it in VersaMark and embossed it with gold ep. I matted this with Always Artichoke and used the ticket corner punch on all the corners.

On the card base, I stamped the snowflake from the Wondrous Gift in VersaMark and embossed them in gold ep.

I added some burgundy ribbon and the "Christmas" from Everyday Flexible Phrases, embossed in gold and punched out with the small oval punch.

I think I'm going to have to keep playing with this one. I like the tree on the polished stone background, but I don't like the rest of the card... Any suggestions? I thought maybe gold paper instead of Artichoke.

Very fancy looking with all the gold embossing! The technique looks great! I haven't tried any of that...looks like a lot of work! It blends the colors together nicely. ;)

Embossing heh?!?! LOVE IT!! But I think you need some sparkle in it, (especially for Christmas!) not sure where, love the dark color's it really does make the card stand out with the gold! Oh, and I would maybe put the christmas on a different color to make it stand out more... Thanks for the great inspiration!! I just gotta find my heat gun! HA

Love this tree! You did such a beautiful job! Perhaps a pale gold shimmer paper against a burgundy mat would also be nice! Love the card just the way it is though! Deb
