Holiday Catalogue Embellishment Share

I don't know about you, but I was overwhelmed with all the embellishments offered in the Holiday Catalogue.  I wanted everything!  I think many people will too, so I'm having two Holiday Catalogue Embellishment Shares so you can get a sampling of everything.  Sign up for one or both!

Papillon Potpourri

This is a card that my Stamp Club ladies get to make this month at our first club meeting.  I CASEd this card by Marie-Josee Prevoneau.  I loved the colour combination she used with Cajun Craze, Midnight Muse and More Mustard (I used Summer Starfruit since More Mustard has now retired). 

This month, Stampin' Up! is featuring a special 15%-discounted Butterfly Bundle that includes the Papillon Potpourri stamp set and the Bitty Butterfly punch, so I wanted to showcase those.  The large butterfly images are stamped on Very Vanilla and punched with the Elegant Butterfly punch.  I stamped the small butterflies on vellum cardstock, punched them with the Bitty Butterfly punch and adhered them to the large butterflies with mini glue dots. 

For the background piece that the butterflies are on, I used some watercolour paper and dipped my AquaPainter in the Cajun Craze, Summer Starfruit and Midnight Muse inks (separately), and swiped them across the paper.  The beauty is you could do this card in any colour combination you want!

The card base is Soft Suede, as is the greeting from Sassy Salutations.

Happy Valentine Heart

I LOVE the Happy Valentine Heart stamp that Stampin' Up! introduced this month.  It is so cute, and it coordinates perfectly with the Full Heart punch.

This is such a quick, easy project that you can make tons of for kids' classes or for your friends at work. I punched out some Pool Party cardstock with the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle and embossed it with the Lacy Brocade embossing folder.  The image is stamped in Regal Rose, punched out with the Full Heart punch, and attached to the Pool Party circle with some dimensionals.  I also discovered that the little heart on the Owl punch fits perfectly into the little heart on the stamp, so I added a little Pool Party heart to it!  The whole piece is adhered to the bag of jelly beans with some mini glue dots.  I finished it off by tying some Pink Pirouette taffeta ribbon around the bag.

I found some yummy pink strawberry jelly beans at Bulk Barn, but you could also fill the bags with a Valentine pencil, other candy, packets of rockets or other Valentine treat.

Retiring Stamp Sets

Summer Smooches and Fighting Cancer

I was reminded by one of the ladies in my Scrapbook Club last night that April is the Canadian Cancer Society's Daffodil month.  And since Stampin' Up!'s Summer Smooches promotion features the colour Daffodil Delight, the wheels started turning in my head.

Spring Ribbon Share!

I don’t know about you, but when I start making Spring cards, I get very excited about putting all kinds of pretty ribbon on them!  It just goes so nicely with the floral stamps and pretty spring paper.  So I thought it was time once again to do a ribbon share so we can all have lots of colours of ribbon without paying for the entire rolls.  Sign up for as many as you want!  I’ll order the ribbon for each share once I have all the spots filled.  Just email me or leave me a comment to sign up.  (Prices are in Canadian dollars, and you'll need to pay for shipping if you're not in my area.)
