Stamp Club Cards

Don't forget to leave a comment at my Blog Candy post for your chance to win some yummy Halloween Blog Candy!

Since I had stamping time this weekend, I was able to plan this month's stamp club cards. Here's what we'll be doing:
This first card uses watercolouring with the Harvest Home set. I saw on Splitcoast that someone had embossed the image before colouring it, so we'll be doing that. The image is embossed with black ep. It stands out much better, and the outline doesn't run when you colour it! I used my Aquapainter (which is on sale this month!) to colour using Tangerine Tango, More Mustard, Old Olive and Close to Cocoa ink. The sentiment is stamped in Old Olive, then the picture is layered on Old Olive, Basic Black and Tangerine Tango as the card base. I used some More Mustard ribbon as an accent.

For the second card, I used a combination of techniques. I started with Splitcoast's sketch SC188 with Brocade Blue and Elegant Eggplant (just because I haven't used my Rich Regals for a long time!).

I used Faux Shaving Cream technique for the hearts (which are from Simply Said). I use this technique a lot for stamping letters for my scrapbook layouts, but I haven't used it yet on a card. I like the effect! I also used Masking for the hearts to "layer" them across one another. I used direct-to-paper to add some Elegant Eggplant ink around the edge of the white cardstock before completing the card.

For this final project, I have to thank Alex for the inspiration. She posted her Pumpkin Poop treats awhile back, and I laughed so hard I had to CASE her! I used her poem that she found online and added it as a topper to some pre-packaged candy corn that I found at Wal-Mart. Then I made a diaper fold pouch using Ghostly Greetings designer series paper and tucked the candy in there (I'll have some Haiku paper available for those ladies who don't do Halloween). Finally, I used the small pumpkin and pumpkin faces Sizzlets dies to make the pumpkin, and I attached it to the pouch with a dimensional.

So that's what we'll be making this month! I hope everyone enjoys them!

Thanks for reading!

Blessings to you,

Stamp Club Projects

Stamp Clubs will be meeting again next week already! It seems like we just had our first meeting! Thank you to everyone who gave me such encouragement as I was planning for last month's clubs. I was very nervous since there is such a mix of stamping experience in the clubs, but I think everyone had fun. I had the same challenge again this month, but I'm not as nervous. I have to remember that people joined the clubs because they like to stamp and they want to have fun! I had fun making these, so I hope the ladies in my clubs will enjoy them as well.

This card uses emboss resist technique. I wanted to use some non-traditional Christmas colours for it, so I went with Night of Navy and Pale Plum. The snowflake is from the Frosty set.

They will get to make some matching stationery for this card using the Snowflake Stampin' Around wheel. It's a quick, easy way to decorate your paper for writing your Christmas letters!

This snowman card is a shaker card (a request from a club member!). I had never made a shaker card before, so I had quite a time trying to figure out how to make the frame for the acetate fit the image and still seal properly. It's hard to tell from the photo, but there is an acetate sheet over the snowmen that has some glitter behind it. I thought this Flaky Friends set was perfect for the shaker card, since the glitter kind of looks like snow falling on them.

I went with the more traditional Real Red and Glorious Green for this card and coloured the snowmen with Stampin' Write markers.

For the last project, I wanted something other than a card, so I thought it would be a cute idea to make a little treat bag for Thanksgiving or Halloween (we celebrate Thanksgiving in October here in Canada). I found these cute little pumpkin candies at Wal-Mart, and I put some in the small cello bag that SU! carries. For the topper, I used Pumpkin Pie and Always Artichoke cardstock. The pumpkin (from Give Thanks) is stamped in Pumpkin Pie ink (what else?), then coloured in with Stampin' Write markers. I punched it out with the scallop circle punch and adhered the layers together. Then I attached it to the cello bag with gold brads.

Stamp Club Cards

I'm finally back online and have had a chance to do some stamping! I've been preparing for my new Stamp Clubs which start next week. I thought it would be appropriate to do some Fall-themed cards since it's already September. I've been focusing so much on Christmas, that I neglected my Autumn/Thanksgiving cards! Oops!

The challenge this time around is that I've got ladies in the clubs who are seasoned pros at stamping along with some newbies. So I've got to come up with some projects that are not too complicated for beginners, but interesting enough for the more advanced ladies. I hope I've succeeded with these cards. I got some inspiration from the Stampin' Up! demonstrator site for the Autumn card and the Pumpkin card.

Leslie posted a notebook a few days ago that she had decorated using TP (toilet paper) technique, and I thought it looked amazing, so I added that to this Autumn card that I found on the demo site. I love how it makes the cardstock look like leather (at least it does in person!). I used Close to Cocoa ink on Really Rust cs. The base of the card is River Rock, and I used the Apple Cider designer paper. The acorns are from the All Through the Year set, and the "Autumn" is from Season by Season. I punched the holes with the 1 1/4-inch circle punch, and the acorns are adhered with dimensionals.

I found this square card on the demo site as well. I wouldn't normally use this kind of background, but I think it gives the card a funky feel! It's glossy white cardstock that I just rubbed the ink pads all over! I like the quick and simple approach! This card has Wild Wasabi, Pumpkin Pie and Close to Cocoa. The pumpkin is from the Give Thanks set, coloured in with blender pens in ink.

I can't remember what this type of card is called. If anyone knows, please let me know! The "bookmark" pops out of a slit in the base of the card, so when it's folded up you can't see the sunflower portion of the card. The base of the card is Not Quite Navy, and the bookmark part is Naturals Ivory. The sunflower is from Give Thanks and is stamped in Basic Brown and coloured in with More Mustard and Old Olive ink using blender pens. It's topped off with a bit of More Mustard grosgrain ribbon.

Thanksgiving Cards

These cards are for a Thanksgiving Stamp-a-Stack I will be hosting in September. Guests will get to make fifteen cards (5 each of the 3 big ones) and ten note cards (5 each of 2 designs) that can be used as place cards on the table or as little pocket notes.

I love the new Apple Cider designer paper that is in SU!'s Holiday Mini Catalogue, so it's been fun to play with that!

The stamp sets I used were Give Thanks and Baroque Motifs (this set just works with any holiday - just change the colours!). Of course, I tried to keep with fall colours, so I used River Rock, Pumpkin Pie, Wild Wasabi, Garden Green, Groovy Guava, So Saffron, Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip. I coloured in the line images with blender pens using my Classic Ink Pads. The "Happy Thanksgiving" sentiment is from Holidays & Wishes, and the flourish on the note cards is from Priceless.
