Baja Daisy

This is one of the cards we made at Crystel's stamp-a-stack last night. I'm using as much In Color cardstock as I can this month since it won't be around much longer! I'm really going to miss Baja Breeze!

For this card, I used the Walk in the Park designer series paper from the Occasions Mini Catalogue, along with Baja Breeze, Basic Gray and Whisper White cardstock. The flower is punched with the Daisies #2 die in the Big Shot, and the greeting is from Sincere Salutations, stamped in Basic Gray. I wrapped some Whisper White taffeta ribbon around the seam as well.

Thanks for reading!

Fabulous Chick!

This is a card I made for an upcoming punch art swap. I will give complete credit to my friend, Treena, aka Papertree on Splitcoast, since I CASEd the design of the card from one she made and she showed me how to make the little punch chick (isn't she cute?). Treena is amazingly talented!

The chick is made with the Scallop Circle, Boho Blossoms, 1/2" Circle and Crop-A-Dile punches in Barely Banana with Only Orange and Whisper White. I stamped the grass from Inspired by Nature in Garden Green on the same colour of cardstock that has been punched with the Top Notes Bigz die. The greeting is from Only Ovals. I ran the Whisper White background piece through the Big Shot with the flowered Texturz plate, then adhered the whole thing to a Barely Banana card base.

I have another busy week coming up, with my son in baseball twice a week, an Arbonne party to go to tonight, a Stamp-a-Stack on Wednesday, shopping club tomorrow, and we're meeting with a mortgage broker tomorrow as well since we want to sell our house! I'll post some of my upcoming Stamp-a-Stack cards later in the week! Thanks for stopping by!

May Scrapbook Club Layout

First of all, I apologize for the quality of this photo - I always find it so hard to photograph scrapbook pages! There must be a trick to it!

Anyway, we're doing a baby layout this month at Scrapbooking Club, partly because almost half of the ladies in the club are expecting babies or have recently had one (congratulations, Kirsten!). I really wanted to use the new Circle Scissors Plus circle cutter, so I thought this would be a cool way to get to play with it! I cut multiple circles, starting at two inches and working up in half-inch intervals.

I also wanted the page to be gender neutral since some ladies don't know whether they're having boys or girls, so I used the Tea Party designer series paper, which has Barely Banana, Certainly Celery and Almost Amethyst in it (perfect baby colours!). I really like the multiple square layout for baby pages because there are always so many photos of our babies and you can fit lots of them on this layout! I rounded the corners of the squares to tie them in with the circles.

For our title, we're going to use the new Jumble Alphabet set (which is on sale this month!), punching the letters out with the 1 3/8" circle punch and layering them on 1 3/4" circles of designer paper. I also stamped some images from the Nursery Necessities set on Whisper White, punched and/or cut them out, and adhered them with dimensionals. I'll have a bunch of baby sets available at club so the ladies can choose whatever images they want to accent their pages.

Now I just need to come up with a scrapbooking lesson for tomorrow and we'll be all set!

Thanks for stopping by!

May Stamp Club Cards

I am very excited about Stamp Club this month and the promotions that Stampin' Up! has for National Scrapbooking Month! I wanted to incorporate the specials into the projects, so here's what we're doing. Since designer paper and textured cardstock are on sale (buy 3, get one free!), I wanted to make sure I used lots of them in our cards.
The first card is a Triangle Trifold card (an oldie but goodie!). I used the Walk in the Park designer series paper from the Occasions mini catalogue, and pulled the Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze and Regal Rose from there as my colour scheme. I used the Great Friend stamp set (also from the Occasions Mini) because it goes so well with the paper! To finish off, I added some Kiwi Kiss satin ribbon.
This birthday card uses designer series paper and textured card stock, plus features the Jumble Alphabet that will be in the new catalogue in July (and is on sale this month as a Sneak Peek promotion!). I used the Good Morning Sunshine paper with Tangerine Tango textured cardstock. I haven't used Tangerine Tango very much, so I thought it was time to pull some out! I also used Certainly Celery, Pacific Point and Old Olive, along with some Celery twill ribbon. The tag has stamps from Party Hearty and On Your Birthday.
The final card is one I received in a swap. It was designed by Donna Wizniuk, a very talented stamper! I had it up on my display board and everyone kept asking to make it, so I thought it was time! I used the sticky pages with the Beautiful Butterflies die to cut out the butterfly. Then it's covered with silver microbeads and Dazzling Diamonds glitter. There is a layer of vellum underneath dry embossed with the Big Shot swirly texturz plate. It also features one of my new favourite ribbons - Organza ribbon! The antennae are stems from the flowers in the Pretties kit. I love this combination of Very Vanilla and Whisper White. I never would have thought of putting those two together, but it's such a beautiful, soft look.

I hope the ladies enjoy these cards! Thanks for reading!

Check Out Alex's New Stamp and Scrap Blog!

My good blog friend, Alex (California Stampin'), has started a new challenge blog called Stamp and Scrap that combines stamping and scrapbooking (two of my favourite things!). They are currently looking for design team members and people to participate in their challenges. Make sure you check out their blog! I know I can't wait to see what they come up with!
