March Scrapbook Club Layout

This is the Easter layout that my Scrapbook Club ladies made this week.  I was inspired by this layout by Sandra Wingate.

The page base is Bashful Blue 12 x 12.  I used a 6 x 12" strip of Certainly Celery and cut it in half in a wavy line for the grass (one half for each page).  I sponged Certainly Celery ink along the top of it to add some texture.  The photo mats are Marina Mist with Whisper White.  We tied some Melon Mambo scallop dot ribbon around one mat and Marina Mist striped organdy ribbon.

Here are the punches we used for each part:

Eggs: 
- Extra Large Oval punch (Sunshine & Sprinkles designer series paper)

Sign:
- Word Window punch (2 Crumb Cake, 1 Whisper White for greeting)
- Modern Label punch (1 Crumb Cake)

Tulips:
- Blossom Petals builder punch (3 Daffodil Delight, 2 Wild Wasabi per flower) - these are all the same piece from the punch - the Wasabi one goes behind the three yellow ones, and one is cut in half lengthwise for the leaf.  For the stem, just cut a thin strip of Wasabi cardstock to whatever length you'd like.

Butterflies:
- Bitty Butterfly punch (1 Melon Mambo, 1 Sunshine & Sprinkles dsp for inside large butterfly)
- Elegant Buttefly punch (1 Melon Mambo)

Bunny:
- 1-3/4" Circle punch (Crumb Cake - body)
- Ornament punch (Crumb Cake - head)
- Large Oval punch (2 Crumb Cake - ears)
- Small Oval punch (retired - 1 Crumb Cake - mouth, 2 Pink Pirouette - ears)
- Small Oval punch (current - 4 Crumb Cake - paws)
- Owl punch (Pink Pirouette heart for nose)

Unfortunately, I had to use the retired small oval punch for this.  I'm very sad that this punch was retired last year because I use it in a lot of punch art!  Maybe if enough of us lament it's retirement, Stampin' Up! will bring it back!

March Stamp Club Cards

This is a month's club features CASEd cards.  There are so many cute cards out there that I had to borrow! 

This first one uses the chalkboard technique.  It was created by Becky Roberts.  I embossed the sentiment from Vintage Verses with white embossing powder on Basic Black cardstock, then sponged white craft ink on it to look like chalk dust.  It's embellished with the Hearts a Flutter stamp set and framelits, along with some SAB buttons, flower trim (dyed with Primrose Petals ink), rhinestone and silver glimmer heart.

Of course, we have to do an Easter card this month.  This pocket card is CASEd from this gorgeous card by Kimberly Van Diepen.  It's actually made with an envelope!  She has an awesome tutorial on her blog.  I used the A Little Bit of Spring stamp set with Black Stazon to stamp on the vellum. I also had a chance to use the adorable new Cute Clips from the Spring Catalogue.  I embossed the Marina Mist cardstock with the Honeycomb embossing folder and layered it on with dimensionals.  The designer paper is Sunshine & Sprinkles, and the card is finished off with a Vintage Faceted designer button and some linen thread. 

This cute elephant card is one that my upline, Winona Semler, featured at one of her events.  It's a tri-fold card (Sahara Sand 4 x 12", scored every 4").  The front is embossed with the Fancy Fan embossing folder.  The front circle is punched with the 2 1/2" circle punch.  There is a 2 3/8" scallop circle of Melon Mambo added with dimensionals inside the circle.  The elephant is from the SAB set Patterned Occasions.  The circle that the elephant is stamped on is from the Circles #2 Bigz die.  The card is finished with some Wild Wasabi stitched grosgrain ribbon.

Our final card is one that was shown at Leadership.  I wanted to show my club ladies our fabulous new Delicate Details Lace Tape.  Did you know that it is re-positionable and re-useable?!  I stuck a piece of it to the bottom part of the card and sponged Lucky Limeade ink over it.  Then I removed the lace to show the design underneath.  You can re-use the tape over and over several times to repeat this process!  The card is finished with some Tea for Two designer series paper, some Old Olive Striped Organdy Ribbon and a jumbo rhinestone.  The sentiment is from Vintage Verses.

April Stamp Club Cards

I have been challenged to come up with more masculine cards this month, as I usually do girly, flowery cards!  (And who can resist with the Springtime Vintage suite?!)  So, I hope these are more masculine fare (except for the Easter card).

Okay, this one has a flower, but the colours are more masculine and neutral!  This card was created by Lorna Raczynski, a talented demonstrator in our big WeCanStamp group.  I love all the texture in this card.  It uses Elegant Soiree designer series paper, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla cardstock and Crumb Cake seam binding.  The flower is made from a wood sheet, punched with the Fun Flowers die, then embossed with the Elegant Lines embossing folder in the Big Shot.  I then sponged Chocolate Chip ink over it.  The sentiment is from Curly Cute, stamped in Chocolate Chip ink. To finish it off, there is a 1" Chocolate Chip circle covered with a Neutrals Collection button and some Very Vanilla 3/8" taffeta ribbon.

As soon as I saw this bunny on Christy Fulk's Easter basket, I knew I had to use him on a card!  How cute is he?  She gives a tutorial on how to make him at the above link (except I used Blushing Bride for the ears and nose instead of Pretty in Pink because it matched the designer paper better).

For the rest of the card, I used Whisper White, embossed with the Tulip Border embossing folder.  I added some gorgeous Paisley Petals designer series paper and stamped the image from Four Frames (both of which are a sneak peek from the new 2011 - 2012 Idea Book & Catalogue, on special this month). I wrapped some Whisper White Organza ribbon around the designer paper and punched the image with the Designer Label punch.  The greeting is from Something to Celebrate (level 2 hostess set in the Occasions Mini Catalogue, which can be yours if you host a workshop in April!).

The final card is another CASE, from the Occasions Mini catalogue.  I wanted to use the Game Spinner Hands for a Stamp Club project, and this is a cute masculine kids' card.  The base is Not Quite Navy, layered with some So Saffron Patterns designer series paper from the Subtles Paper Stack.  I punched the scallop circle out of Rich Razzleberry with the Scallop Circle #2 Big Shot die.  The image is from Take a Spin, stamped in Pear Pizzazz with Rich Razzleberry accents (I used my Stampin' Write marker for the accents, colouring directly on the stamp after I inked it with Pear Pizzazz).  The image was punched out with the fantastic new 2 1/2" Circle punch.  Some Pear Pizzazz ribbon finishes it off, along with a sentiment from On Your Birthday in Not Quite Navy.

I made this card 4 1/4 x 4 1/4" so the scallop circle could be above the top of the card and still fit into a standard envelope.

April Scrapbook Club Layout

So this morning I remembered that I hadn't yet planned for my April Scrapbook Club, which meets tonight!  So in all the packing and mess of my house, I did the mad scramble to get it together!

I decided that the smartest thing to do would be to CASE someone else.  So I found this lovely Spring layout by "martat" on Splitcoast Stampers.  Here's my take on it (which is not very far off from the original!).

I love all the flowers!  It uses the Shades of Spring designer series paper from the Occasions mini catalogue (only available until the end of this month!) and I used the Blossom Party and Build a Flower dies with my Big Shot to make all the flowers (thanks, Treena, for loaning me your dies!).

The title is stamped with Lovely Letters in Orchid Opulence, and I added some Whisper White Organdy ribbon around the title piece.

I hope the ladies like it!

Happy Bird-day?

Here is the second stamp-a-stack card we'll be making.

This is a CASE of a card made by Christy Harsch.  There's a layer of Sending Love designer series paper with an eyelet border edge (I'll also have the Scallop Trim Border punch available as an option) in Certainly Celery.

The bird is made with the Extra Large Two-Step Bird punch with Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose and Certainly Celery (for the branch).

My hostess wanted a spring-themed birthday card that could be used as an Easter card, so I've used the Well Scripted set for this one in Regal Rose ink.  There is an Easter greeting in this set, so the ladies can make some birthday cards and some Easter, or even Mother's Day!

Spring Has Sprung!

Thank you to all of you who have commented on my birthday blog candy. Remember you have until midnight tonight to get a comment on this post. As an aside, can someone please tell me how to respond to a comment by email? I would like to respond to some people, but I cannot figure out how to email them and include their comment! I would really appreciate any help!! Thanks in advance.
Here are a couple of Easter/Spring cards. I was asked by one of my friends to come into her work place during a lunch hour so she and her co-workers could make a couple of cards for Easter (though some wanted Spring cards instead). So I admit that I totally CASEd these cards from the Splitcoast gallery. I wanted to use Never-Ending Joy, but I just couldn't come up with something on my own!

For this card, I CASEd this one by Gabby89, but I switched the paper to the Bashful Blue Prints designer series paper (from the Level 1 hostess gifts) and Bashful Blue, Perfect Plum and Regal Rose cardstock. The tulip is from Garden Whimsy, and I added some Pretty in Pink grosgrain ribbon behind the images. The flower stem is stamped in Wild Wasabi.







For this card, I CASEd this one by momtocnjn, but I used Never-Ending Joy instead. I kept the Certainly Celery and added Barely Banana, and I switched the ribbon to Pretty in Pink. And instead of designer paper, I just used my Itty Bitty Backgrounds with Barely Banana ink (on Barely Banana cardstock) for some texture. I always forget I have those stamps, but they just add that extra something!
