Oh So Lovely Buckle Card

I wasn't sure where I was going with this one, but I like how it turned out! I'm doing a stamp-a-stack on Tuesday with some ladies, and we'll be making some "specialty" cards (buckle, triangle tri-fold, swing and gel cards). I was trying to come up with a buckle card that uses some new products.

I knew the Oh So Lovely hostess set would be perfect for this card since the flowers are long, skinny stems, and they fit nicely alongside the buckle slot (which was punched with the Word Window punch). I stamped them in Basic Black on watercolor paper, then colored a little bit with Perfect Plum and Mellow Moss watercolor crayons. I used an aquapainter to blend the colors. This piece was matted with Perfect Plum cs, and I rounded all the corners with a corner rounder punch.

The card base is Mellow Moss (I used that because I have a bunch of pre-scored cards left over from another stamp-a-stack, but it works well with this card!). I stamped the background piece that comes with Oh So Lovely all over the Moss piece with Perfect Plum ink. I really like the aged look it gives the cardstock. I stamped "from the heart" from the Holidays and Wishes set in Perfect Plum as well. I also rounded the corners of the flap of the card.

The inside piece is Very Vanilla cs. I edged the cs with Mellow Moss ink and stamped some little flowers from the Simply Said set in Perfect Plum, although I think I will leave those off next time.

I think it turned out alright (I hope my guests think so!). I'll post the other projects I come up for the class later on (I have to come up with them first!).

Happy Sunday!
