Sale-A-Brate!

This is another swap card I came up with, this time for a Sale-A-Bration swap.

I really love the upcoming Sale-A-Bration ribbon and brad combo pack! I threaded some of the Lucky Limeade ribbon through a strip of Everyday Enchantment SAB designer series paper that I had punched with the Lace Border punch. This went onto a Vintage Wallpaper-embossed Very Vanilla background that I sponged with Soft Suede and Pool Party ink.

The main piece is stamped with the Elementary Elegance stamp set. Before I stamped, I inked the stamp in Soft Suede ink, then used a blender pen to remove some ink from a few of the little images in the stamp. I coloured those images with the Pool Party Stampin' Write marker before stamping, so there is a multi-coloured image. The center is punched out with the Curly Label punch, then the sentiment is stamped in Lucky Limeade. A few rhinestone jewels finish off the card.

Again, I received some beautiful cards in this swap. I'll post photos in a few days.

Mixed Bunch

This is a card I created for an Occasions Mini catalogue swap that I participated in.

As soon as I saw the new Blossom punch in the mini catalogue, I knew I had to have it! I'm such a sucker for punches! And of course, you can't get the punch without the coordinating stamp set, so Mixed Bunch went onto my order as well.

It may sound silly, but I actually chose my colours based on the In Color designer brads because I have tons of them and I wanted to use them up on my swaps! So, In Colors it was! This card has Pool Party, Island Indigo, Pear Pizzazz and Wisteria Wonder. To finish off the flowers, I added some polka dot designer brads - as previously mentioned - some mini brads and some rhinestone jewels.

The Island Indigo background piece is embossed with the Finial Press embossing folder, and I added some Pear Pizzazz pleated satin ribbon as well.

You wouldn't believe all the gorgeous cards I received in this swap! My card board is full of new amazing samples to show my customers and club ladies! I'll try and post a few photos in the next few days.

January Scrapbook Club Layout

This month we did a Valentine's Day layout using the new Hearts Framelits dies for the Big Shot.

I love the new Twitterpated product suite, so we used the designer series paper, pleated satin ribbon and buttons for the layout as well. The Take it to Heart set, of course, coordinates perfectly, so we embellished the keepsake envelope with that set.

Happy New Year! I've had so much fun playing with all the new stuff from the Occasions Mini Catalogue, and my Stamp Club ladies get to share in the fun! Here's what we'll be making this month:

This is my sneak peek card for the upcoming Sale-A-Bration! I copied the butterfly idea out of the mini catalogue. It uses the new lace doily sizzlits die in Calypso Coral, layered over some Everyday Enchantment designer series paper, then cut with the Beautiful Butterflies die. I also used one of the new Edgelets dies and embossing folders for the bottom of the card. The sentiment is from Elementary Elegance, stamped in Lucky Limeade. Some SAB ribbon and a brad finish off the card.

I definitely wanted to show off the new Framelits dies, so I used them with the Take it to Heart stamp set. I stamped the bird in black Staz-On on watercolour paper, then coloured using my Stampin' Pastels and a blender pen. I also used my Aqua Painter with some Baja Breeze ink to colour in the heart so it would blend better with the Twitterpated designer series paper. I punched a scallop circle out of Blushing Bride, then used my bone folder to soften the paper (swipe the bone folder over the cardstock several times until the edges start to come apart). Then I peeled apart the scallop circle so I had two that look like suede. I glued those together, then did the same thing with some Island Indigo paper and my Boho Blossoms punch. To finish off the card, I added some Blushing Bride folded satin ribbon and a Twitterpated button from the new mini catalogue.

I couldn't go without the new scented embossing powders, so I had to show this to my Stamp Club ladies! The cherries from the Mouthwatering set are inked with Real Red craft ink and a Lucky Limeade Stampin' Write marker. I then poured some Cherry-scented embossing powder over the cherries and heat set them. They smell soooooo good! The card is simply finished with some polka-dot embossed Lucky Limeade cardstock and Real Red satin ribbon.

December Stamp Club Cards

For my Stamp Clubs this month, we are, of course, making Christmas cards!

This adorable singing mouse is made from punches. I rolled the music note wheel across the card in a curving motion. The "Joy" is from The Sounding Joy stamp set. Such a cute mousie!

This next card was designed by Lorna Raczynski, and uses the Spirelli technique. I used Perfect Plum and glossy white cardtsock for this one. The Lace stamp is stamped in VersaMark and embossed with white embossing powder before sponging Perfect Plum ink around and on top of it.

This card was designed by a demonstrator in my upline's group, and I'm so sorry, but I can't remember who made it! But I love the designer paper Christmas tree! It's made by using a half-circle of paper and folding it back and forth. The ribbon is a piece of Wild Wasabi grosgrain cut in half.

This final card is a gift card holder that I learned how to make at my upline, Winona Semler's, meeting. It's made with a long envelope folded in half. Super cute and easy to make!

December Scrapbook Club Layout

What else would we do in December but a Christmas layout?

For this super-cute layout, I used the Holly Berry Bouquet Product Suite, including Holly Berry Bouquet designer series paper and buttons, the Pines & Poinsettias stamp set and some matching ribbon (Real Red satin, Wild Wasabi striped grosgrain and Very Vanilla velvet stitched ribbon).

The Christmas trees are made by taking a 6" half circle (cut with my Circle Scissors Plus), then folding it back and forth.

Mini Muffin Tin Advent Calendar

I mentioned yesterday that one of my stamp clubs was making some Christmas cards. Well, my other stamp club decided that instead of having a hostess for November and placing orders, they wanted to make this adorable Mini Muffin Tin Advent Calendar that I learned from Christy Harsch.

When I showed them the tin a few months ago, they were very excited to make it, so this is what we did last Thursday.

It uses tons of punches and die cuts, and it features the very cute 25 & Counting stamp set with the Frostwood Lodge suite.

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like...

Well, my house is all decorated for Christmas as of today. My boys had a blast decorating the tree while we blasted Christmas music through the house! So now I'm in a very Christmas-y mood! I'm very excited about stamp club for the next two months because we get to make so many holiday cards! One of my Stamp Clubs is making these cute Christmas cards/projects this month.

This first item is an adorable little purse that I learned from Lorna Raczynski. It's filled with some chocolate treats, and it's the perfect size for holding a gift card! I used the Holly Berry Bouquet suite to make this one.

This next card is a telescoping card. As soon as I saw the tutorial for this on Splitcoast Stampers, I had to try it! I used the Christmas Lodge stamp set with the Frostwood Lodge designer series paper. Some Fire Circle brads finish it off.

The final card is this Christmas ribbon flower card. It didn't photograph as well as I would have liked - it looks way better in real life! I used the Cherry Cobbler striped grosgrain ribbon to create the flower by using a basting stitch with some white baker's twine along one side of the ribbon. Then pull the twine tight so the ribbon loops up. I then stitched it shut at the back and ran the twine up through the center, pulled it through the button, and knotted it at the back. There is a second piece of ribbon wrapped around the main part of the card. To finish it off, I used the Pines & Poinsettias set to stamp a greeting, added a Vintage Tag and some First Edition designer series paper cut with the Top Note die and stamped with the En Francais background stamp.

Snow Days Layout

We haven't got snow here yet, but it's coming soon, so we may as well start scrapping it!

Silver-y Wedding!

This is a wedding card I created for one of my former students, who got married last weekend! Congratulations, Melanie and Brennan!

I wanted to keep it simple and elegant. I embossed some Whisper White cardstock with the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder, then I sponged Platinum Shimmer Paint over the raised images. I added some Rhinestone Jewels to the centers of the flowers after I layered it onto some Brushed Silver cardstock. I embossed the sentiment from Word Play in silver and added a little Rhinestone Jewel to the diamond image on "do". Finally, I adhered it all to the Whisper White card base before tying some Whisper White Organza Ribbon around the whole thing. The wrapping paper I used for their gift was silver and white, so it matched perfectly!

Gently Falling Layout

This is the layout my Scrapbook Club will be making next week. I will admit that I totally CASEd this. I'm afraid I don't know who to give credit to, as it was on display at a Stampin' Up! event hosted by Christy Harsch, and there were several demonstrators who had projects displayed.

Simple Silhouettes Thanks

This is a super-simple thank you card I came up with. I actually designed it as a sympathy card, but I made a bunch of them and stamped some with "thank you"!

I used the Beau Chateau designer series paper, paired with Very Vanilla and Marina Mist. Some Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon finishes off this simple, elegant card.

I actually like the template so much, that I made a Christmas stamp-a-stack card using the same layout!

Always Elegant Shower

This is a card I made for a wedding shower for a girl at our church who is getting married. I haven't made a lot of shower cards, so this one came together slowly, piece by piece!

I started by choosing Pink Pirouette and Brushed Silver as my main colours. Then I got out my Always Elegant and En Francais stamp sets. I stamped En Francais in Pink Pirouette and then embossed the flourish-y thing in silver over top of that. The silver background is embossed with the Finial Press embossing folder. I punched the side of the Pink Pirouette layer with the Scallop Border punch. It still needed more, so I threaded some Very Vanilla taffeta ribbon through it.

Hopefully the end result is okay!

Spice Cake Weave

This is a card I made for a Holiday Mini swap I'm participating in with my upline, Winona's, group.

I was inspired to use this paper weaving technique by this cute card by Noelle. I used the Spice Cake designer series paper, cut it into 1/2" strips and wove it together. Then I added some Early Espresso quilted satin ribbon with sticky strip. I finished that part with a Regals flower button.

For the greeting part, I stamped the leaves from Gently Falling (my new favourite stamp set!) in River Rock and More Mustard with Early Espresso for the outlines, then cut them out. The greeting is stamped from Teeny Tiny Wishes and punched out with the Modern Label punch. I also stamped the leaf over the greeting piece for some texture. I tied some hemp twine through the sentiment piece, then attached the leaves and sentiment together with a mini clothespin. I attached the whole piece to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Gently Falling Collage

My friend asked me to make her some simple masculine cards, so I pulled out the new Gently Falling stamp set.

I used More Mustard, Cajun Craze and Pear Pizzazz to stamp the leaves, then added a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes and the Word Window and Modern Label punches. Quick and simple!

Christmas Rosette

I'm feeling very Christmas-y and it's only September! I LOVE, love, love the combination of Real Red and Wild Wasabi that is very trendy this year!

I was inspired to create this card based on a Christmas box project that Stampin' Up! gave to all demonstrators who signed up in July or who had someone sign up with them in July. I was fortunate to have someone join my team, so I got the box! It is absolutely gorgeous, and I wanted to make a card to match.

I tried out the Embedded Image technique on the Top Note piece. I used the First Editions dsp, stamped it with En Francais in Real Red, covered it with VersaMark and embossed it in clear embossing powder. Then I stamped the branches from Christmas Lodge in VersaMark and embossed them with Wild Wasabi embossing powder.

For the ribbon rosette, I sewed along one edge of the Real Red striped grosgrain ribbon with linen thread and pulled it tight to create the flower. I attached this to the card with a pop-up glue dot. The sentiment piece is copied directly from the Christmas box project using the Pines & Poinsettias stamp set.

I'm going to try not to overdose on Christmas cards before November this year, but I can't help myself!

Gently Falling Side-Step

How gorgeous is the Spice Cake Suite in the new Holiday Mini Catalogue???

For this Side Step Card, I used the Spice Cake designer series paper and the Gently Falling stamp set. I matched the colours in the dsp to stamp the leaves - Pear Pizzazz, More Mustard and Early Espresso. On the main piece, I used the mat pack and paper piercer and my Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker to create faux stitching. Then I cut out the leaves and attached them to the piece with a mini clothespin (I just discovered these! How cute!). To finish off, I used the Eyelet border punch on some more dsp, added some hemp twine and an Espresso button.

I think I will be getting a lot of use out of this stamp set and designer series paper (as will my Stamp Club ladies)!

Pines & Poinsettias Sound Card

I've been having lots of fun playing with my new stuff out of the upcoming Holiday Mini Catalogue!

This is a sound card that my Stamp Clubs will be making at our first meeting in September. I know Christmas is a ways away, but I really wanted to try something fancy with the recordable sound cards, and I thought Christmas would be perfect so people can send their loved ones a holiday message!

I used the polished stone technique on glossy white cardstock using Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, So Saffron and Gold re-inkers. I then used the Oval Scallop Frame with my Big Shot to punch out the oval pieces. The stamped image is from the new Pines & Poinsettias stamp set, stamped in Black Staz-On. I also added some new Dazzling Details glitter glue to bits & pieces of the stamped image.

For the background, I embossed some Brushed Gold cardstock with the Petals-A-Plenty embossing folder and sponged Cherry Cobbler ink all over it. After gluing the scalloped oval piece to this, I added some Cherry Cobbler Quilted Satin Ribbon across the bottom using sticky strip (how gorgeous is this ribbon!?). I finished this off with an antique brad.

Finally I tied some crochet trim around the frame and attached a greeting with some 1/8 Very Vanilla taffeta ribbon. The sentiment is punched with the Modern Label punched and sponged with Soft Suede ink. Then I added the center oval piece with Stampin' Dimensionals. The whole thing was then adhered to a layer of Cherry Cobbler cardstock.

I sponged the edges of the sound card with Cherry Cobbler ink before I glued the card front to it. Here is the inside of the card (also stamped with Pines & Poinsettias in Cherry Cobbler and Soft Suede):

Butterfly Birthday

This is another birthday card that I made large quantities of. I modified a version that my upline, Winona Semler, made. Hers used the Strength & Hope stamp set with Beyond the Garden designer series paper, and the butterfly image had to be cut out by hand. The card was beautiful, but I really didn't want to cut out all those butterflies, so I used Flight of the Butterfly and punched them out! I also switched out the dsp to Flirtatious and added the Lace Border punched piece in Pretty in Pink. Quick and simple!

Elements of Style

I actually a little bit of time to do some stamping "just for fun" this afternoon! So I just thought I'd play around with my Stampin' Write markers and the Elements of Style set. I rarely do multi-coloured images on large stamps because it takes so long to colour the image with markers (I'm all about quick and easy!), but I took some time today to colour with Marina Mist and Always Artichoke before stamping it on Whisper White. I sponged around the edges with Marina Mist and added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the flowers. I layered the stamped piece on some Brushed Silver cardstock and tied some Marina Mist 1/8" ribbon around it. I then popped a light blue rhinestone out of one of my "Ice" brads and adhered it to the ribbon with a mini glue dot. And that's it! Easy-peasy!

A CASE for Beautiful Wings

I admit that I totally CASEd this card. When I saw this stunning creation by Dayanna Donng, I had to try it. I love the Pink Pirouette with Basic Black - so gorgeous!

The flower from Just Believe and the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes are embossed with black embossing powder, and the butterflies are cut with the Beautiful Wings embosslits die. Thanks for the beautiful card, Dayanna!

July Scrapbook Club Layout (Canada Day!)

I'm very sad that my last Scrapbook Club meeting of the year is on Monday. It's always bittersweet when the clubs come to an end. Some ladies will be returning in the fall and some are taking a break for a year, so it's the last time we'll all be together for awhile. (And I love all my ladies!) At our last meeting, the girls requested a Canada Day layout, so here's what I came up with.

I used the Glorious & Free set for this. I made the maple leaf using a cool new technique that I just learned. I'm not sure what it's called, but I stamped the leaf in Real Red, then cut it out. I covered it with Crystal Effects, then put a drop of Real Red ink (from my refill) in the Crystal Effects. I used a toothpick to swirl the ink around, then let it dry. It looks really cool in real life!

The rest of the layout is pretty straight-forward. Here's a list of supplies:

Another Ice Cream Cone Card

This is a fancier version of the Ice Cream Cone card that my guests made at my new catalogue open house.

This one uses some Pink Pirouette Patterns designer series paper behind the ice cream cone, and I added some new Chocolate Chip scalloped polka dot ribbon. I love how versatile the Cupcake and Petite Pennant punches are!

I had several draws at my open house on Thursday. The Grand Prize draw includes two hostess stamp sets, ink pads, In Color assorted cardstock and pompom ribbon.

I had my son choose a name out of the draw bin...

In Color Blossom Bouquet

This is a little something I came up with to showcase all the new In Colors (Calypso Coral, Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder). I used the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer punch to make all the flowers, then layered them on some Sahara Sand that I embossed with the Finial Press embossing folder. The card base is Whisper White. I finished off the flowers with some rhinestone jewels. Quick & simple!

New Catalogue Open House!

I'm so excited to be hosting my annual New Catalogue Open House and Retired Product Garage Sale on Thursday! Of course, there will be make & takes!

This first card shows off the new In Colors (aren't they gorgeous?). I punched a square of each colour with the Postage Stamp punch, then adhered them onto a Sahara Sand background. I ran the whole thing through the Big Shot with the Finial Press embossing folder, then layered it on some Island Indigo cardstock. I then stamped a greeting from the new Pennant Parade stamp set in Island Indigo on Whisper White cardstock and punched it out with the Postage Stamp punch as well before adhering it to the card with some dimensionals. The whole piece is then attached to the Whisper White card base.

This second card showcases our new punches! How cute is that ice cream cone? I've seen a few of these, so I had to try it myself. The cone is Crumb Cake cardstock embossed with the Square Lattice embossing folder then punched with the new Petite Pennants Builder punch. The "ice cream scoops" are made with the Cupcake punch in Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla and Pretty in Pink. I layered the ice cream cone on some Pink Pirouette and Chocolate Chip cardstock before adhering it to a Very Vanilla card base. Then I added a Chocolate Chop ribbon border punched piece across the bottom before stamping the greeting from Short & Sweet.

June Scrapbook Club Layout

I LOVE the Beyond the Garden suite in the Summer Mini catalogue, but I sure had a rough time coming up with a layout using it! Here's what I came up with.

I stamped the title using the Jumble Alphabet stamp set (I can't believe this is retiring!), then stamped the flower image over it before layering it on some Melon Mambo cardstock. I used my Beautiful Wings embosslits and Beautiful Butterfly die for all the butterflies. The larger butterflies have some pearl jewels in the centers. I added some Beyond the Garden designer series paper and Wild Wasabi layers as well.

The bottom corner of the right-hand page is embossed with Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango and Wild Wasabi embossing powders. The larger mat on the left-hand page has some stamped images that I cut out and layered on with stampin' dimensionals.

May Scrapbook Club Layout

As usual, I haven't posted the layout my Scrapbook Club ladies made last month! Here it is:

Some of the ladies have been wanting to do a travel-themed layout, and I asked them to wait until the Summer Mini catalogue came out because there are such great travel products in there! We used the Nautical Expedition designer series paper with Not Quite Navy, Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla cardstock. The Travel Log stamp set also fit in quite nicely. We threw in some Baker's Twine and Postage Stamp-punched pieces to add some accents.

June Stamp Club Cards (Part 2)

Here are the other two cards we're doing at Stamp Club this month.

I don't use my wheels often, but I love the new teacher/school-themed wheels in the Summer Mini catalogue! I used a triple cell ink cartridge with Real Red, Basic Black and Tempting Turquoise for these Builder Wheels and rolled them on some Whisper White cardstock. What a quick and easy main image! I used the corner rounder punch and layered the main image on some Real Red cardstock.

To finish the card, I added an owl using the owl punch, and I stamped a greeting in Basic Black. Some Basic Black satin ribbon finishes the card.

Since we've got these amazing coloured embossing powders, I wanted to try multicoloured embossing. It's actually easier than I thought it would be. I stamped the image from Elements of Style in VersaMark all over the Very Vanilla cardstock. Then I sprinkled some of each embossing powder on it (Wild Wasabi, Tangerine Tango, Melon Mambo). I tapped the excess powder into a new container, so now I have a container of multi-coloured powder! When you heat set it, the colours just pop!

I layered the stamped piece onto some Wild Wasabi and then added a sentiment from Cute by the Inch that I inked with my Stampin' Write markers to mimic the multi-coloured embossed piece. The sentiment is punched with the Postage Stamp punch and layered onto 1 1/4" and1 3/8" squares of Wild Wasabi and Tangerine Tango respectively. I finished by tying some knotted Pumpkin Pie striped grosgrain around the whole thing before adhering it to the Tangerine Tango base.

June Stamp Club Cards (Part 1)

It's always sad for me when another year of Stamp Club comes to an end. The ladies in my clubs are so amazing, and we have so much fun! To wrap things up this month, we'll be making four cards instead of my usual three.

As soon as I saw the tutorial for the Center Step card on Splitcoast, I knew I had to try it! Here's my version. I used a lot of retiring products on this card since it's my last chance to use them. The stamp set is Simply Said, which was one of the first stamp sets I bought after becoming a demonstrator. I can't believe it's retiring! Anyway, I used Blueberry Crisp designer series paper and pulled the colours from there (Marina Mist, Not Quite Navy, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake).

This next card uses the Poppin' Pastels technique (an oldie, but goodie!). I haven't done this technique for a long time, but I will be doing it more often now! It makes for such a soft look. I stamped the images from Fabulous Florets in VersaMark on Shimmery White cardstock, so there is a shimmer to the finished card. I used Baja Breeze, Pretty in Pink and Always Artichoke pastels and dabbed them over the stamped images with sponge daubers. To finish the card, I spritzed it with some Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz to add more shine, then tied some Baja Breeze seam binding around it.

May Stamp Club Cards

I meant to post these earlier, but I have had a crazy few months (I'll post more on this later). I wanted to use some of the products from the new Summer Mini Catalogue this month for my stamp clubs, so here's what we're making.

I am so thrilled that Stampin' Up! has decided to pair with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation with the creation of the Strength & Hope set. ($2 from the sale of the set goes to the BCRF.) I wanted to use lots of pink for this card because it ties in with the cause of breast cancer research.

I chose to use the Lap of Luxury designer series paper because there's lots of pink in it! I added a Pretty in Pink satin ribbon bow as well. For the background, I stamped the En Francais stamp in Pretty in Pink on some Very Vanilla cardstock.

I stamped the butterfly in Regal Rose ink on some Pretty in Pink cardstock, cut it out, and applied Dazzling Diamonds glitter all over it using my two-way glue pen. To finish it off, I added a small chain of Rhinestone jewels down the center.

This next card is, of course, very similar to this card that I posted last month! But this time, I'm using the new Beyond the Garden dsp, and I used the new Blossom Bouquet triple layer punch for the center of the flower. The flower itself is punched with the large Scallop Circle punch. I used the Brights textured cardstock for all the parts of the card (Melon Mambo, Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight), along with some Wild Wasabi for the stem and leaf.

The greeting is stamped with Short & Sweet in VersaMark and embossed with Melon Mambo embossing powder (LOVE the new coloured embossing powders!).

The final card is a CASE of this card by Anne Marie Hile. I didn't change much because she did such a fantastic job!

I wanted to do some watercolouring with my ladies, so I stamped the boat from Sail Away in black Staz-On ink on some watercolour paper, then used my Aqua Painter to colour it in with my watercolour crayons.

This card also uses the new Binder's Twine in Cherry Cobbler from the Summer Mini, along with some Striped Night of Navy grosgrain ribbon. The Cherry Cobbler piece at the top of the card is embossed with my Square Lattice embossing folder.

We only have one more month of clubs left, so I'm sad that we'll be done for the summer. I have such wonderful ladies in my clubs, so I'm hoping they'll be back in the fall!

April Scrapbook Club Layout

This month we did a Vintage/Heritage layout using the First Edition designer series paper from the Occasions Mini Catalogue.

We started with a Basic Black page base, then layered on the Very Vanilla cardstock and First Editions dsp. The Vanilla pieces on the ends are embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder using the Big Shot. We then sponged some black ink on them to age them. The designer paper strips are stamped in black with images from the Elements of Style set. I added a strip of Very Vanilla punched with the Scallop Border punch under the designer paper pieces.

To finish it off, we added a couple of Top Note die cut pieces, some Chantilly Crochet Trim and an antique brad. I stamped the Elizabeth stamp in Whisper White craft ink (I would have used Very Vanilla if I had it!), then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I then stamped the sentiment from Elements of Style in Basic Black ink on Very Vanilla and punched it out with the Scallop Oval punch. I adhered this on top of the embossed Elizabeth image with Stampin' Dimensionals. The crochet trim and antique brad connect to the stamped image.

We had lots of fun making this layout and visiting on Monday night at Scrapbooking Club! Next month, we'll be making a travel-themed layout.

April Stamp Club Cards

I have been challenged to come up with more masculine cards this month, as I usually do girly, flowery cards! (And who can resist with the Springtime Vintage suite?!) So, I hope these are more masculine fare (except for the Easter card).

Okay, this one has a flower, but the colours are more masculine and neutral! This card was created by Lorna Raczynski, a talented demonstrator in our big WeCanStamp group. I love all the texture in this card. It uses Elegant Soiree designer series paper, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla cardstock and Crumb Cake seam binding. The flower is made from a wood sheet, punched with the Fun Flowers die, then embossed with the Elegant Lines embossing folder in the Big Shot. I then sponged Chocolate Chip ink over it. The sentiment is from Curly Cute, stamped in Chocolate Chip ink. To finish it off, there is a 1" Chocolate Chip circle covered with a Neutrals Collection button and some Very Vanilla 3/8" taffeta ribbon.

As soon as I saw this bunny on Christy Fulk's Easter basket, I knew I had to use him on a card! How cute is he? She gives a tutorial on how to make him at the above link (except I used Blushing Bride for the ears and nose instead of Pretty in Pink because it matched the designer paper better).

For the rest of the card, I used Whisper White, embossed with the Tulip Border embossing folder. I added some gorgeous Paisley Petals designer series paper and stamped the image from Four Frames (both of which are a sneak peek from the new 2011 - 2012 Idea Book & Catalogue, on special this month). I wrapped some Whisper White Organza ribbon around the designer paper and punched the image with the Designer Label punch. The greeting is from Something to Celebrate (level 2 hostess set in the Occasions Mini Catalogue, which can be yours if you host a workshop in April!).

The final card is another CASE, from the Occasions Mini catalogue. I wanted to use the Game Spinner Hands for a Stamp Club project, and this is a cute masculine kids' card. The base is Not Quite Navy, layered with some So Saffron Patterns designer series paper from the Subtles Paper Stack. I punched the scallop circle out of Rich Razzleberry with the Scallop Circle #2 Big Shot die. The image is from Take a Spin, stamped in Pear Pizzazz with Rich Razzleberry accents (I used my Stampin' Write marker for the accents, colouring directly on the stamp after I inked it with Pear Pizzazz). The image was punched out with the fantastic new 2 1/2" Circle punch. Some Pear Pizzazz ribbon finishes it off, along with a sentiment from On Your Birthday in Not Quite Navy.

I made this card 4 1/4 x 4 1/4" so the scallop circle could be above the top of the card and still fit into a standard envelope.

March Scrapbook Club Layout

This month for Scrapbook Club, I wanted to use the Springtime Vintage suite, so I CASEd the cute layout in the Occasions Mini Catalgue.

The Springtime Vintage designer series paper has become one of my favourites! I really hope it makes it into the new 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalogue. This layout includes Not Quite Navy and Very Vanilla cardstock accents on a base of River Rock. I also used the paper daisies, Vintage Flower adornments and some Crumb Cake and Rose Red seam binding.

Sew Suite Flower Card

This is a card I prepped for our WeCanStamp group meeting. Every two months, our group leader, Christy Harsch, hosts a meeting for all the Stampin' Up! demonstrators in her downline. I'm on the make & take committee, so I get to help come up with cards and prepare them for the ladies to make. This month, I cut paper to make 200 cards!

The card is CASEd from one that was apparently shown at Leadership this year (I wasn't there, but my friend, Donna Wizniuk, brought back photos!).

It is a departure from my usual style, but I like the bright colours. Here are the steps to make the card:

Fold the Daffodil Delight card so the shorter part is the front of your card. Adhere the Sweet Stitches Designer Series Paper strip to the inside right part of your card.

Adhere the Wild Wasabi stem right against the right edge of the card front. Punch a “leaf” out of Wild Wasabi textured paper using either the wing of the Two-Step Bird punch or the leaf of the Blossom Petals punch. Glue this to the left of your stem.

To make the flower:

- Place sticky strip around the outside edge of the 1-inch circle you have in your cello bag (the circle should match your pompom trim).

- Poke a hole through the center of the 1-inch circle with the paper piercer.

- Remove the sticky strip backing and put your fabric designer brad through the hole you punched.

- Wrap your pompom trim around the fabric brad, pressing it into the sticky strip and tucking it into the bottom of the brad.

- Punch a large scallop circle out of Melon Mambo textured cardstock.

- Adhere the pompom/fabric brad piece to the center of your Melon Mambo scallop circle “flower”.

Place adhesive on the back of one half of the Melon Mambo flower and adhere it to the top of your stem on the card so that half of the flower is overlapping the designer series paper when you close the card. Stamp your greeting on the bottom left of the card front in Melon Mambo ink.

Watery Image Stamping

I thought this was a cool technique: water image stamping! I know I saw this on someone's blog and CASEd the card, but I'm afraid I can't remember where I saw it. (If you know, please leave me a comment and I'll credit the person!)

All you do for this one is stamp your image first on neutral cardstock. Then stamp it again on a window sheet or the smooth side of the Stamp-a-Ma-Jig clear sheet. Cover the image you stamped on the neutral cardstock and press the window sheet onto the other side of the cardstock.

Keep the first image covered while you sponge ink over the mirror image, darker at the middle line of the paper, to look like water.

Fun With My Fun Flowers Die!

I haven't bought a lot of dies for my Big Shot. I have tons of embossing folders, sizzlits, embosslits, etc., but I'm a bit frugal when it comes to spending a lot of money for a die. But I did fall in love with the Fun Flowers die when I saw it in the mini catalogue!

I decided that I want to make quick, easy thank you cards to put in with my customers' orders. And this die is perfect for that! I can make 16 flowers with eight sheets of cardstock (I used Perfect Plum, Marina Mist, Wild Wasabi and Rose Red). The card base is So Saffron, embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. I put the flowers together with Brights glimmer brads (I would have used Subtles, but I don't have those yet!). It took me about 20 minutes to make all these cards!

I can't wait to make more fun cards with this die. And I think it will be perfect for some spring scrapbook layouts...

February Scrapbook Club Layout

I just realized that I forgot to post the layout we did at my last Scrapbook Club meeting!

We did a cute baby layout, with my club ladies having the choice of Pretty in Pink or Bashful Blue. The boy layout had Marina Mist accents and the girl layout had Blushing Bride accents. I used the adorable Baby Bundle stamp set and Baby tees jumbo wheel for this one. And of course, Bitty Buttons and Subtles brads with satin ribbon to make cute baby accents!

March Stamp Club Cards

I've got Spring Fever! Even though it's still cold and snowy here, I've been itching to get out my spring stamps and colours and make some floral cards. So we're having a spring theme this month!

I've been wanting to make a clear envelope brag book with this group for awhile, and I love the way the Springtime Vintage designer series paper looks for a little memory book. I used the Baja Breeze dsp, cardstock and seam binding for this card, along with the Baby Blossoms and Define Your Life stamp sets.

This next card uses a cool technique I learned at one of my upline, Winona's, meetings. I used my embosslits die to cut out the flower in Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight, then cut window sheets with the embosslits as well. I attached a window sheet flower over each coloured flower with a Brights brad. It makes a really fun, bright flower! I finished off the card with some of the Sale-A-Bration Ice Cream Parlor designer series paper, some Polka Dot embossed Whisper White cardstock and Old Olive 5/8" grosgrain ribbon, all layered on an Old Olive card. The sentiment is from the Sale-A-Bration set So Happy For You, stamped in Old Olive as well.

I also thought it would be fun to make a waterfall card, and this one is a simple kid's birthday card. I used a couple of stamp sets: Look Who's Turning and Animal Stories. I used some fun kids colours from the Subtles colour collection: Perfect Plum, Marina Mist, So Saffron, Wild Wasabi and Rose Red. For the card and designer series paper (from the Subtles Paper Stack), my club will have a choice of colours from the five listed above. I also added some Subtles brads to hold the slider part in place.

Should be lots of fun!

February Stamp Club Projects

I am very excited about this month's projects! I learned some really cute techniques and cards at my upline, Winona's, last meeting, and I can't wait to share them.

This first card uses a technique that's popping up all over the place. We're calling it "Inlaid Embossing", but I've heard it called a few other things! I CASEd the design from Donna Wizniuk, a talented lady in our downline group. I started by embossing the card base with the Framed Tulips embossing folder. Then I put together the center part, layering some Early Espresso, Naturals Ivory, Basic Black, First Edition dsp and an Early Espresso Full Heart. I ran the whole thing through the Big Shot with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder. I finished it off with a pop of colour using a Regals button threaded with linen thread.

Winona showed us how to make this cute present card, so I adapted it to use the Sale-A-Bration designer series paper, ribbon and buttons. I LOVE the bright colours! It pops open from the top and there's a card insert inside. I also used the new Build a Cupcake punch, and I crimped the bottom part of the cupcake.

The bow on the top is made with the small and large oval punches. Punch out the small one first, then punch the large oval around the hole left by the small oval punch. Then arrange them in a "bow" shape! Too cute!

Those of you who are Stampin' Up! demonstrators will probably recognize the last card from the January issue of Stampin' Success magazine. I love the builder wheels, and this card is perfect for showing how you can use them for something other than a border.

I embossed the card base with the polka dot embossing folder. Then I rolled the builder wheels across the Rose Red piece with Chocolate Chip ink and wrapped some Pear Pizzazz twill ribbon around it. I layered that piece on the Chocolate Chip and Pear Pizzazz cardstock.

I've had some requests for learning how to use heat & stick powder, so I added some bling with heat & stick powder and green glitter from the Fine Cosmo glitter pack for the word "wish".

January Stamp Club Cards

I hope everyone had a great Christmas! I'm such a bad blogger - I don't think I posted once all of December! Perhaps one of my New Year's resolutions should be to blog more consistently... I'll see if I can find the time!

Anyway, here are the cards my Stamp Clubs will be making this month. I'm loving all the new products in the Occasions mini catalogue, so we're using lots of them!

I CASEd a card created by Julia for this one. She showed a cool technique using re-inkers and alcohol that I had to share with my club ladies. You put a few drops of rubbing alcohol in a container (I use empty SU! brad containers), then a few drops of re-inker in the alcohol. Then use a sponge or cloth to dab the colour over glossy white cardstock for this cool background. I used Rose Red, So Saffron and Perfect Plum. Then, I stamped all over it with the small flower from Flower Fancy in black Staz-On.

The big flower uses a cool technique that I've learned a few places (including Julia), where you punch out the shape and run a bone folder over it several times until the paper starts to come apart at the edges. Gently peel back the top layer to get a cool faux-suede-looking flower.

The ribbon bunch is super easy - just put some sticky strip down and press the ribbon into it as you "loop" it across the front of the card.

I really wanted to use the heart treat cups this month to make a Valentine card, so here's what we're doing. I borrowed this layout from Cindy and changed up the colours and the method for making the slider. I like making treat cup cards that you can get the candy out of without ripping the card apart! This one has the slider tab that you can pull out and get the candies out through a hole in the inside of the card. (It will be filled with red & white M & Ms if I can find some for my club!) I used the gorgeous new Real Red glitter paper for this one! Isn't it pretty? It goes so nicely with the Early Espresso.

And what Occasions mini stamp club would be complete without the new Petals punch and matching stamp set? I had to pre-order this as soon as I saw it!

This card uses the Patterns paper from the Filled with Love bundle, along with Rose Red, Blushing Bride, Regal Rose and Certainly Celery. I used Pretty in Pink satin ribbon across the bottom of the card, but I've ordered Rose Red seam binding which I hope will be here in time for my club on Monday because I think that would look better!

November Scrapbook Club Layout

Nothing like leaving things until the last minute! My Scrapbook Club is meeting tonight, and I just finished figuring out our layout! The ladies fell in love with the layout on p. 35 of the Idea Book & Catalogue, so I tried to adapt it to make it more conducive to a club (i.e. affordable supplies and quantities!) and add a second page to it, and this is what I came up with.

I love the combination of Crumb Cake, Certainly Celery, Wild Wasabi and Early Espresso! I never would have thought to use them together, but it's really striking.

Anyway, hopefully the ladies like it!

November Stamp Club Projects

I have found the cutest Christmas projects for this month's stamp clubs! I will admit they are all CASEd because they are too adorable not to reproduce!

This gorgeous vintage Christmas card was created by Sherry Roth. It uses the Deck the Halls designer paper, champagne glass glitter, tinsel, gold waffle paper (so many fun embellishments from the Holiday Mini Catalogue!).

Kimberly Van Diepen (could she be any more talented!?) posted a fabulous tutorial on her blog about how to make these treat cone decorations, so I came up with a Christmas version using the Jolly Holiday designer series paper.

This cute Christmas card was on a display board at a Stampin' Up! event I attended, so I'm not sure who came up with it, but don't you love the little presents made with the petal card punch!? I punched out the "gifts", then ran them through the Big Shot in the polka dot embossing folder.

The tree branches are the evergreen tree stamp from Lovely as a Tree (is there anything you can't use that stamp set for?).

I'm so looking forward to Stamp Club tonight and next week! I have such lovely ladies in my clubs again this year!

October Scrapbook Club Layout

This is the layout my Scrapbook Club ladies will be making tomorrow! I love this colour combination for Halloween (Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black).

I thought it would be fun to use an assortment of 4 x 4 square mats on this one. I sponged Basic Black ink around all the solid colour pieces. The spider web is made with black waffle paper and the spider web embossing folder (with the Big Shot, of course!). I also added some little bats from the Bitty Bat punch. The tag has a piece of Raven lace ribbon attached. I think in hindsight the the pumpkin piece should be angled as well, so I think I'll change that for the class!

I did CASE it from someone - I actually saw it on Kijiji from someone who was selling a kit to make a similar page, but I'm not sure who (no name on the image).

I loved the layout of the card on page 10 of the Holiday Mini Catalogue, so I CASEd it!

I embossed the black waffle paper and Old Olive card with the new Spider Web textured impressions folder using my Big Shot. I love how the waffle paper looks! It's layered on Rich Razzleberry and edged with Raven lace trim.

I stamped the pumpkins from Autumn Harvest in Basic Black on Pumpkin Pie cardstock (I masked the little pumpkin to get the big one to overlap). Then I used my blender pen to add some Pumpkin Pie ink to the lines on the pumpkins for more texture before cutting them out.

To finish, I added a few bats from my Bitty Bat punch and a Halloween greeting. My Stamp Club will be making this card this month, along with a couple other cute projects!

Bells & Boughs

This is a card I made for a swap I'm participating in featuring new accessories.

I am so loving this new Deck the Halls designer series paper from the Holiday Mini Catalogue! I pulled colours out of the paper to complete this card - Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke and Crumb Cake. I started by sponging all the layers with Crumb Cake ink to add texture. The Crumb Cake layer is punched with the Scallop Border punch.

I stamped the bells from Bells & Boughs in Crumb Cake ink, then used my blender pens to lightly colour it in with Artichoke, Cherry and Crumb Cake before punching it out with the 1 3/4" circle punch.

I tied some Cherry Cobbler seam binding around the whole thing and threaded it through a jumbo button (these are fantastic!) before tying a big bow. To finish, I added a Merry Christmas (from Teeny Tiny Wishes), punched it out with the Word Window punch and layered it on a piece of Always Artichoke punched from the Modern Label punch.

I think I'll be using a lot of Cherry Cobbler in my Christmas cards this year! It's gorgeous!

Artistic Christmas

It has been a busy month, so I apologize for not posting sooner. We moved into our new house (finally!) at the end of August, so it's been a flurry of unpacking, preparing for my fall classes and clubs, getting the boys ready for school, etc. So here's a quick post of a card I made this summer.
This is a card I CASEd from Felice Gladue for our WeCanStamp Stampin' Up! demonstrator event. I was one of the make & take presenters, so everyone got to make this card!

I love it when you can use a stamp set in more than one way, and I was thrilled that Felice used the Artistic Etchings set to make Christmas ornaments! How cute is that?

The circles are stamped in Cherry Cobbler, then stamped again on scrap cardstock. I punched out the centers of the scrap circles with the 1" circle punch and adhered those to the main circles with dimensionals. The ornament "handles" are stamped in Always Artichoke.

To finish, we added some Early Espresso 1/8" taffeta bows and pearl jewels. My stamp clubs will also be making this card this month!

August Stamp Club Cards

I am so fortunate to have had lots of ladies sign up for clubs this past year, and one of my clubs is actually going through the summer. This is our last meeting as this group, and I came up with some special cards for them.

This first card uses the Iris Twist technique. I used the gorgeous new Woodland Walk designer series paper and pulled my colours from there. I am so happy that Wild Wasabi is back! It looks so nice with the Chocolate Chip. The stamp is from the Cute by the Inch level 2 hostess set, which I inked using my Stampin' Write markers.

The second project is the card purse, which is also found on Splitcoast Stampers. I used the new Celebrations designer series paper and Party This Way stamp set with Pacific Point, Pear Pizzazz, Real Red and Bashful Blue. For embellishments, I used Certainly Celery satin ribbon and Brights buttons.

As soon as I saw the Smooch Spritz Resist technique on Splitcoast, I had to try it! I did CASE the sample card by Lydia Fiedler.The card base is Whisper White, embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder and the Big Shot. I cut a scallop circle of Presto Patterns designer series paper and sponged Pacific Point ink all over it. The I spritzed it with Gold Glow Smooch Spritz and sponged that as well. To finish the card, I added a Scallop Oval greeting with a clip tied with Whisper White organdy ribbon.

Sparkly Christmas Ornaments!

This is my second card for the Christmas in July One Layer Card swap.

I started with a Bravo Burgundy base and embossed the greeting from Contempo Christmas in gold embossing powder. Then I sprayed the card with gold Smooch Spritz. I stamped the ornament pieces using the rock and roll technique with More Mustard and Bravo Burgundy ink before punching them out with the Ornament punch. I then put a little yellow rhinestone circle brad through the center ornament and added Dazzling Diamonds glitter to all three ornaments before attaching them to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. It looks a lot more sparkly and glittery in real life!

Come to Bethlehem!

I signed up for a Christmas in July swap where we are only supposed to use the new Christmas sets. I signed up excitedly for two spots, thinking it would be easy. The trick is that it's a One Layer Card swap! It sounded simple, but it's much harder than I thought it would be to come up with a nice card that only has one layer (that layer being the card base!).

So for this card, I CASEd this card by Allee. She used some layers, but I adapted it to be just the card base!

I used masking, brayering and sponging for this card. I stamped the images from Come to Bethlehem in VersaMark on the Whisper White card, then embossed with silver embossing powder. Then I tore some scrap paper to have a curved edge and used it to cover the bottom portion of the card. I then brayered Marina Mist ink across the top portion. After that, I moved the mask down a bit and sponged some Sahara Sand ink across the top. I kept moving the paper down and sponging more ink to give a sand dune effect. Finally, to finish off the card, I tied some Whisper White organdy ribbon around it.

I'm pretty happy with how this card turned out. Hopefully the ladies in the swap will like it too!

July Scrapbook Club Layout

It's our final Scrapbook Club meeting of the year. What a fun group of ladies this group is! I'm so glad many of them are returning again in the fall!

For our final layout, we'll be making these kids' birthday pages. I was very excited to see the Celebrations collection in the new Idea Book & Catalogue, so I went to town ordering the designer series paper, buttons, stamp set, anything I could get in these colours (Pacific Point, Bashful Blue, Pear Pizzazz, Real Red)!

Ooh Baby!

This is a card I CASEd from Christy Harsch. I love the simplicity. It uses the Baby Bundle stamp set - stamped the little images in Basic Black. Then I used sponge daubers to add dots of ink over the stamped images (Melon Mambo, Marina Mist, Certainly Celery and Daffodil Delight). To finish off, I tied some Celery satin ribbon around the card and added a layered piece with the sentiment.

Super quick and easy! My favourite kind of card!

On a personal note, we got the move-in date for our house, finally! On August 24, we will officially have our new house! I will be so happy to be out of this apartment! So now I'm going to get to work planning my New Catalogue Open House (better late than never!).

July Stamp Club Cards

I am thrilled to have enough ladies in my Stamp Clubs that we can meet over the summer, although this is the last meeting for my Monday night club. I've had a great year with these ladies! I'll be showcasing lots of our new catalogue products and colours at this month's clubs.

This first card uses a combination of techniques - I learned it from a very talented lady, Lynne Scratch. It combines the bouncing brayer and dazzling diamond dust techniques, along with embossing with the Big Shot.

I used the Manhattan Flowers embossing folder to make the flowers in Whisper White, then used two brayers to apply Marina Mist and Elegant Eggplant ink randomly on the flowers. Then I cut around the edges of the flowers, applied VersaMark to the whole piece and heat embossed it with Iridescent Ice embossing powder.

To finish off the card, I adhered the flower piece to a Marina Mist (LOVE this colour!) card base, wrapped some Marina Mist 1/8" Taffeta ribbon around it and added a sentiment.

This second card is one I made for my sister-in-law, Wendy's, workshop this afternoon, but I thought it would be a great Stamp Club card because it uses all the new In Colors!

I used the new Level 1 hostess set Because I Care with my In Color Stampin' Write markers. I coloured the different colours on the flower part of the stamp and Pear Pizzazz on the stem and leaf before stamping on Whisper White. I then sprayed this piece with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz to give it a soft, shimmery look.

To finish off, I matted the flower piece on some Pear Pizzazz and Concord Crush cardstock, wrapped some Certainly Celery 5/8" grosgrain around it and adhered it to the Blushing Bride card base. The sentiment is stamped in Blushing Bride and Concord Crush.

The final card is a Gate Fold card that I made using the new Greenhouse Gala designer series paper. I pulled the colours from the paper - Pear Pizzazz, Baja Breeze, Early Espresso. The stamp set is Awash With Flowers.

Greenhouse Gala Butterfly

This is a card I made for a swap I'm in with my upline's group. We had to use new catalogue items. I can't wait to see what the other ladies came up with!

It's pretty straight-forward! Here's the recipe:

Stamps: Artistic Etchings
Paper: Greenhouse Gala dsp; Early Espresso, Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight cardstock
Ink: Early Espresso
Accessories: Punches (Eyelet border, Modern Label, Word Window), Big Shot Beautiful Butterflies Bigz die, Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, crimper, Vintage brads, Early Espresso 1/8" taffeta ribbon

I ran the Daffodil cardstock through the Big Shot with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, then rubbed the Early Espresso ink pad over it. I also sponged Espresso ink around the butterfly wings. For the Whisper White layer, I punched it with the Eyelet border punch, then ran it through the paper crimper.

Blossom Spread!

Before I begin, just a reminder that today is the last day to order out of the current SU! Idea Book & Catalogue! Check my website for the retiring list, and you can order right from there if you'd like - just click "Shop Now" at the top right of the page (or contact me to order).

Now, onto the card! This card uses the re-inker spread technique that I've seen on a few blogs. My Stamp Club used this technique this month to create pansies using the butterfly punch (I'll post that soon!).
This card uses one of my favourite retiring colour - Pixie Pink! I also mixed in some Certainly Celery and Perfect Plum.

For the re-inker spread technique, here are the steps:
1. Punch your shape (large flower blossom here) out of Shimmery White cardstock.
2. Spritz the shape with LOTS of water (for this technique, the more water the better!).
3. Place a few drops of re-inker on a plate (or I used an empty SU! button container). Use your aqua-painter to pick up some re-inker.
4. Touch the inked aqua-painter to the wet flower while squeezing it at the same time so the ink "flows" onto the flower. Allow it to dry (you can use your heat tool to speed up the process) and finish your card.

To finish the card, I added some 1/2" circles and little flowers from the Itty Bitty punches, along with some Itty Bitty buttons to the flower centers. I embossed the Certainly Celery piece with the Square Lattice embossing folder and wrapped some twill ribbon around it. I stamped the ribbon in Pixie Pink and Perfect Plum with the Itty Bitty Bits stamp set.

The cool thing is that the flowers are shimmery after the ink dries because of the Shimmery White cardstock - very pretty in real life!

My goal this summer, since my husband is home (he's a teacher, so it works very nicely for holidays!), is to post to my blog at least once a week! I know I've been a bad blogger, so I'm hoping to get back into it now that I'll have a bit more free time! Now if I can just stay off Facebook, I'll be fine! :)

June Scrapbook Club Layout

My Scrapbook Club ladies wanted to play with the Smooch Spritz and Presto Patterns designer series paper this month, so we thought a wedding layout would be perfect! I wanted to keep the page pretty neutral since everyone's wedding colours are different, so I decided to use Whisper White and Very Vanilla as the base colours, with a splash of gold (or silver if they choose).

I apologize for the photo quality - the lighting in our apartment isn't that great! It looks a lot better in real life - very shimmery and elegant! (I can't wait to move into our new house!)

Anyway, I started with Whisper White as the base, and I cut some strips of Presto Patterns and sponged them with Blush Blossom ink (I thought the ladies could sponge their wedding colour ink instead if they wanted to tie it in with their photos). Then there is a strip of Vanilla with a Brushed Gold border (punched with the eyelet border punch). I used the Beautiful Butterflies die with my Big Shot to cut the butterfly out of Whisper White, then embossed the flourish stamp from Elements of Style in gold embossing powder on it. Then I sprayed it with Vanilla Smooch Spritz. A creamy half-pearl from the Pretties kit finished the butterfly.

The title is from the "Peace, Love, Joy" decorative strip die with the Big Shot - I just cut the word "Love" out of it (in Brushed Gold cardstock). I hung a Vintage Tag on it with the date of my wedding on it. The tag is cut from Whisper White with the scallop border corner punch for the corners. I sprayed it with the gold Smooch Spritz and added a knot of Organdy ribbon at the top.

Should be a fun evening with the ladies! I'm really enjoying my Scrapbook Club this year! Such a fun group of ladies!

Soft Suede & Smooch Spritz!

This is one of the cards we did as a make & take at my downline meeting. I wanted to play with some of the new Summer Mini stuff, so here's what I came up with.

I used the new Presto Patterns designer paper and sprayed it with Log Cabin Smooch Spritz. How much do you love this pre-embossed paper? It dried surprisingly fast, and then I dabbed the excess off with a paper towel.

Then I stamped some flourished from the Elements of Style set in Soft Suede along the bottom. To finish it off, I layered it on some Barely Banana cardstock, stamped some more flourishes and a sentiment from Great Friend, all in Soft Suede. I tied some Suede polka dot ribbon around the whole thing and adhered it to the Suede card base.

Et voila! I'll be making this card at my summer workshops to show off the Summer Mini products.

Manhattan Blues

I made this card for a swap I'm doing with my downline.

I really wanted to use the Manhattan flower embossing folder with vellum cardstock, but it took awhile to figure out what to do with it after! I decided to use Basic Gray and Bashful Blue. I haven't used this colour combination before, but I love it!

I made the scallop square with the Scallop Border and Scallop Corner punches (see Gretchen Baron's blog for a fantastic tutorial on all the sizing of different squares for this technique). I punched the corners with the Horizontal Slot punch and tucked the vellum piece in those (I didn't want the adhesive to show through, so I put it on the corners on the back side after they were tucked in).

Then I layered it on some Bashful Blue wrapped with Gray Taffeta ribbon and stamped the greeting in Basic Gray.

Hopefully they'll like it!

May Scrapbook Club Layout

I wanted to use the new Island Oasis designer paper from the Summer Mini Catalogue for my Scrapbook Club this month, and I really wanted to try a shimmer paint technique with the Sweet Scoops stamp set, so I combined the two for this layout (I CASEd the layout from someone, but I'm afraid I can't find the original now.)

So, for the ice cream stamps, we will be mixing some white shimmer paint with reinkers and painting that on the stamp before stamping (I didn't do that for the sample for the sake of time, but we will be doing it at the club!).

Giraffe Baby!

I made this baby card as a sample for one of my friend's baby shower invitations. She likes the Earth Elements colours, so I chose Chocolate Chip, Not Quite Navy and Certainly Celery for this one.

I used the new Square Lattice embossing folder for the background. I love the "quilted" look for baby card. And of course, I had to use Itty Bitty Buttons! It IS a baby card, after all!

The giraffe is from Wild About You, which I know is retired, but it's so cute!

May Stamp Club Cards

Yay! I managed to get my Stamp Club cards planned! I apologize for the quality of the photos. I can't get decent light in my apartment!

I wanted to showcase a lot of the new products from the Summer Mini Catalogue, so here's what we'll be making this month.

I CASEd this card by Nancy Littrell. I've been wanting to do watercolouring with my clubs for quite some time, and when I saw this Elements of Style set in the mini catalogue, I knew it was perfect! I first cut some watercolour paper with the Top Note Bigz die, then stamped the flower image in black Staz-On on it. I used the Rich Regals watercolour crayons and my aquapainter to colour in the flowers. I then spritzed the image with Vanilla Smooch Spritz. LOVE this stuff! To finish off the card, I added some Basic Black satin ribbon and matted the coloured piece on Ballet Blue cardstock.

This second card uses the new Builder Wheels! These are so cool! I inked the triple cell cartridge with Pretty in Pink, Tempting Turquoise and Certainly Celery ink and rolled the wheel across. I thought the Sweet Scoops stamp set went really well with these wheels as well, so I added a scoop of Pretty in Pink and some Tempting Turquoise sprinkles.

This final project is something I learned at our WeCanStamp group meeting last month. I thought it was so cute! I ran a 3 x 3 envelope through the Big Shot with the new Square Lattice embossing folder (make sure the envelope flap is open). Then I punched a scallop circle out of the envelope (through both sides). I cut a 2 3/4" square of Pixie Pink cardstock and I put it in a small cellophane bag that I cut the top off of so it was three inches long. This whole thing fits in the envelope. I stamped the "for you" sentiment from the Elements of Style set in white Staz-On on the cello bag. And because it's a small envelope, the Itty Bitty Bits stamp set, Bitty Buttons and Punch Pack all work perfectly with it! I layered those as an accent, then stamped the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Lovely Lilac.

There are so many more Summer Mini products I wanted to use, but I guess they'll have to wait until next month!

Manhattan Birthday

Well, we're finally moved out of our house and are renting a condo until our new house is built. It's a long story, so if you're interested, you can check out my post on my family blog here.

Anyway, I know I haven't posted for awhile. It's been a crazy month! I found a photo of this card I made for my mother-in-law for her birthday, so I thought I'd share that!

I know I CASEd this from somebody, but I'm afraid it was so long ago, I can't remember where I found it or who I copied. If you know, please let me know so I can give credit where credit is due!

I used the Manhattan Flower embossing folder with vellum cardstock for the main image, placing it behind a piece of Rose Red textured cardstock with a square cut out of it.

A felt flower with a Chocolate Chip corduroy button and 5/8" grosgrain ribbon complete the card.

I will be planning my Stamp Club projects this week, so I'll post those as soon as they're ready.

April Scrapbook Club Layout

So this morning I remembered that I hadn't yet planned for my April Scrapbook Club, which meets tonight! So in all the packing and mess of my house, I did the mad scramble to get it together!

I decided that the smartest thing to do would be to CASE someone else. So I found this lovely Spring layout by "martat" on Splitcoast Stampers. Here's my take on it (which is not very far off from the original!).

I love all the flowers! It uses the Shades of Spring designer series paper from the Occasions mini catalogue (only available until the end of this month!) and I used the Blossom Party and Build a Flower dies with my Big Shot to make all the flowers (thanks, Treena, for loaning me your dies!).

The title is stamped with Lovely Letters in Orchid Opulence, and I added some Whisper White Organdy ribbon around the title piece.

Moving!

I know it's been awhile since I've posted... we've had a VERY busy month! Our house sold at the end of March (finally)! And, of course, the new family wanted a 30-day possession, so we've been crazily packing, sorting, storing, changing utilities, finding a place to rent, etc. for the past few weeks. I really haven't had much time for anything else!

We're building our new house (which I am so excited about!), but it won't be ready for several months, so in the meantime, we'll be renting a condo. I have a wonderful friend, Susan, who has volunteered to let me use her basement craft area to hold my clubs since the condo will be too small for classes. THANK YOU SO MUCH, SUSAN!!!

I've had to pack a lot of my crafting supplies for storage (the condo only has so much space! LOL!). So, I don't know how much extra crafting I'll be able to do in the next few months, besides preparing for my classes. I'm hoping to get a few things posted after we move in two weeks, but until then, I'll be packing and stressing!

April Stamp Club Cards

How on the ball am I? I actually have my Stamp Club cards planned and posted more than a week ahead of time!

I've been wanting to try an easel card for quite some time, so I figured I'd better just do it! I started with Bella Bleu designer series paper and went from there. It turned into a soft, semi-masculine card since I used the paper with Close to Cocoa in it! I stamped the tree from Pendant Park in Close to Cocoa ink on the Bella Bleu paper and layered it on some Very Vanilla. Then I used my mat pack and paper piercer and Close to Cocoa Stampin' Write marker to add some faux stitching around that piece. For the base piece, I added a strip of dsp to a Close to Cocoa piece that I had punched with the Scallop Trim Border punch. A Very Vanilla taffeta bow completes that piece.

I've posted this card before, but I had some requests from my ladies to do this one when they saw it on my display board! You can check out the details here.

I've seen a few cards with these tulips, so I thought I'd give it a try as well! Since it's the last month of the Occasions Mini Catalogue, I figured I'd better use as much from there as I could this month! I've got the Sending Love designer series paper, edged with some Lavender Lace (punched with the Scallop Edge punch). I also added a Very Vanilla layer, embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder using the Big Shot.

The tulips are made from the wing of the Extra Large Two-Step Bird punch. I used Pretty in Pink, Lavender Lace and Barely Banana for the flowers and Certainly Celery for the stems. The greeting is from Thank You Kindly, stamped in Lavender Lace.

Here is the second stamp-a-stack card we'll be making.

This is a CASE of a card made by Christy Harsch. There's a layer of Sending Love designer series paper with an eyelet border edge (I'll also have the Scallop Trim Border punch available as an option) in Certainly Celery.

The bird is made with the Extra Large Two-Step Bird punch with Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose and Certainly Celery (for the branch).

My hostess wanted a spring-themed birthday card that could be used as an Easter card, so I've used the Well Scripted set for this one in Regal Rose ink. There is an Easter greeting in this set, so the ladies can make some birthday cards and some Easter, or even Mother's Day!

Animal Stories Birthday

This is a card I came up with for a stamp-a-stack that I've been asked to do at the end of this month. I've got four cards that we'll be making (five of each), so I'll post them over the next several days.

My hostess, Kate, wanted to do a kids' birthday card that could be used for a boy or girl, so I decided that I had to use the Tall Tales designer series paper and Animal Stories stamp set! They're perfect! I just pulled some colours out of the paper for the layers. The card base is So Saffron. The designer paper is on Rose Red, and the Whisper White stamped piece is on Old Olive. The animal is stamped in Brilliant Blue, but I'll have other ink colours available (So Saffron, Rose Red, Old Olive), so the guests can stamp the animal in whatever colours they'd like. The greeting is from Look Who's Turning.

This month, my Scrapbook Club will be doing a layout based on this card that my Stamp Club made this month (scroll down to the second card on the post). I LOVE the Vintage Vogue stamp set and jumbo wheel. They are so versatile!

The pages are Very Vanilla 12 x 12. I rolled the Very Vintage jumbo wheel across them in Old Olive ink. Then I randomly stamped images from Vintage Vogue all over the pages in Perfect Plum. For the first page, I stamped the Medallion in VersaMark and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I sponged Perfect Plum ink around it (Emerging Colour Technique). I also sponged Plum ink around the edges of the pages to soften them.

For embellishments, I added some cut-out stamped flowers from the Vintage Vogue set. A couple of them have half pearls from the Pretties kit. I also added a clip with some Old Olive ribbon.

Love You Make & Take

I am thrilled to have been asked to prepare a make & take for our large group meeting this month. Donna Wizniuk, who is in charge of the make & take committee, suggested I CASE this card by Kimberly Van Diepen. So here is my only slightly modified version of it.

Puffy Flower a la Corie!

My blog friend, Corie Foster has been making tons of cards using this puffy flower using the Scallop Circle punch, so I had to try one. She has a wonderful tutorial for the puffy flowers here.

I totally CASEd Corie on this card. You can check out her stunning original here. And if you go to Corie's blog and scroll down a bit, you'll find tons of different projects she's made using the puffy flowers! She is amazing!

For my card, I used Bermuda Bay with some Whisper White cardstock that I embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder using my Big Shot (I wasn't going to buy this folder, but I've seen so many stunning projects made with it that I had to have it!). The puffy flower is made with vellum cardstock. I think I'd use vellum paper instead next time as this was very hard to work with. The "leaves" are punched with the 5-Petal Flower punch and cut apart. The sentiment is from Short & Sweet, punched with the Modern Label punch.

March Stamp Club Cards

All of my cards this month are CASEd! I love the spring theme of these cards, and I couldn't wait to share them with my club ladies.
This first card is a CASE of one I made at my upline, Winona Semler's, group meeting. She used the Sweet Pea dsp on hers, but I decided to go with Cottage Wall designer paper (one of my favourites!).

The top portion is Pale Plum that I ran through the Big Shot with the Polka Dots embossing folder (which I wasn't going to buy, but after seeing so many amazing projects with it, I had to have!). There is a strip of Old Olive across the center.

The flower is made with two 1 x 11" strips of Whisper White cardstock. I punched along the edge with the eyelet border punch, then ran the strips through the crimper several times to soften it up. Then I punched a 1-3/8" circle of sticky pages and removed one of the backings. I started at the outer edge of the circle and wound the paper strips around, circling in towards the center. When it was done, I snipped off the remaining white strip (there's a bit left at the end) and peeled the backing off the sticky circle to adhere the flower to the page. To finish the flower, I added a Sweet Pea stitched felt piece to the center and the leaves to the outside.

Finally, I stamped the greeting from Whimsical Words (SAB set) in Rich Razzleberry.

This next card is CASEd from Christine Cowie Lehman that she made for a swap I participated in last month. I thought it was just stunning!

This technique is called Emerging Color. I used the Vintage Vogue stamp set and the Vintage Wheel with Old Olive, Soft Suede and Pretty in Pink to stamp all over a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. Then I used the Pinking Hearts border punch along the edge.

Next, I stamped the Medallion stamp in VersaMark and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Finally, I sponged Soft Suede ink over the embossed image and along the edges of the paper so the Medallion "popped".

To finish the card, I layered that piece on some Pretty in Pink, wrapped some Kraft taffeta ribbon around it and added a Scalloped Oval piece stamped from Oval All.

This final card is another one I did at my upline's meeting this month. It's hard to tell from the photo, but it uses the Sponging Clouds technique. I stamped the house images from the Good Neighbor SAB set in Basic Brown and coloured them with blender pens and watercolor crayons. Then I punched a scallop circle from scrap paper, placed it on the cardstock and sponged Bashful Blue ink around it. You just keep moving the scallop circle around the page (start at the bottom) and sponging more ink around it to create a cloudy look. The grass is a strip of Garden Green cardstock snipped with my paper snips.

Masculine Patchwork

This is a card I made for a masculine swap that I'm in this week. It is so difficult to come up with masculine cards! I hope this works... My Big Shot club will be making this card this month, along with a little box that I'll post tomorrow.

I was flipping through the Hostess Level 1 Patterns pack of designer series paper, and I thought all the colours in there looked pretty masculine, so I decided to do another patchwork card. I've seen tons of these cards on Splitcoast, using the Top Note Bigz die, so here's my version!

I punched 1 1/4" squares of the designer series paper and glued them onto a Whisper White piece of cardstock before running it through the Big Shot. I used Sahara Sand as the card base and Night of Navy to mat the Top Note piece. For the tag, I punched a wide oval of Night of Navy and added a Sahara Sand Modern Label piece. I used the Horizontal Slot punch to put holes at each end and threaded some Mellow Moss 1/4" grosgrain ribbon through it. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes (what else?!).

Sending Love Patchwork Style!

I've seen a few patchwork cards around, and so I thought I'd try a simple one with my sparkly Sending Love designer series paper (LOVE this paper - I really hope they put it in the new catalogue in July...).

Anyway, I punched some 1 3/8" squares of the paper and layered them on a 4 1/4" square of Very Vanilla. I tied some 5/8" Real Red grosgrain around that and layered it on the Real Red card base. The sentiment is from Well Scripted, stamped in Basic Black.

There you go, quick and easy! These cards are a great way to use up scraps of designer paper that you have laying around!

February Scrapbook Club Layout

Happy Valentine's Day! I wanted to use the Sending Love designer series paper for this Valentine's layout. It's a bit busier than my layouts usually are, but I just thought I'd cover it with hearts, so I pulled out all my heart embellishments!

The title is stamped with Lovely Letters in Real Red and punched out with the Full Heart punch. I then stamped the triple heart from I {Heart} Hearts in Real Red craft ink and embossed it with Iridescent Ice before punching it out with the Heart to Heart punch. (Stampin' Up! will donate $2 to disaster relief in Haiti with every purchase of this stamp set!)

To embellish, I added more Heart to Heart hearts in Real Red, some embosslit heart die cuts (punched out with the Big Shot), some Real Red gingham ribbon and a Very Vanilla 5/8" brad.

We're meeting tomorrow night, so hopefully the ladies will enjoy this layout! I have one spot available in my Scrapbook Club, so if you're in my area and would like to join for the rest of the year, let me know!

February Stamp Club Projects

For my February clubs, we will be making some different occasions cards. We made Valentines last month, so this time we'll make a baby card, an anniversary card and an cool card using the scallop border punches (for any occasion!)

I can't remember what this type of card is called (with all the different folds), but I thought it would make a cute baby card. I used the Sweet Pea designer series paper, pairing it with Barely Banana and Lavender Lace. For the boat stamp (from Nursery Necessities), I used the kissing technique with a stamp from Razzle Dazzle. The front piece with the boat on it folds open like a mini card.

My friend, and talented stamper, Donna Wizniuk, came up with this adorable anniversary card. I had it up on my card board, and several ladies commented on it, so we'll be making it this month!

It's quite labour-intensive with lots of little pieces, but I think the end result is so cute! It's hard to tell from the photo, but the background "wall" piece is scored in half-inch squares to look like tile, then stamped and sponged with Sage Shadow ink. The towel bar is a strip of Sahara Sand cardstock with a silver brad at each end.

I ran the towels through the Big Shot with the square Texturz plate before adding the "monogrammed" stamps (from All Holidays) and the scalloped Sage Shadow pieces on the bottom. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, stamped in Basic Black.

Finally, we will be making this Very Vanilla scalloped card that my upline, Winona, showed us at our last meeting. I believe she CASEd it from someone else, but I'm not sure who. (If you know, please inform me so I can give credit where credit is due!)

I love monochromatic cards, and this one works well with the Vanilla, Chocolate Chip and Kraft. The butterflies are made with the new butterfly embosslits in the Occasions mini catalogue. I sponged them with some Chocolate Chip ink using a sponge dauber. The scalloped piece is a 3 13/16" square. I punched the corners first with the scallop corner punch, then lined up the sides and punched them with the scallop border SAB punch.

Et voila! Hope they like them!

Brayered Flower

This is another card we did in my Big Shot club. I've been wanting to do something with embossing folders beyond just sticking paper in and running it through, so this is what I came up with. It's pretty simple, I know, but I was surprised by how much it adds to the embossing to add ink!

All I did was brayer some Elegant Eggplant ink onto the embossing folder on the side with the raised image. Then I carefully dropped some Whisper White cardstock in and ran it through the Big Shot. So simple!

One lady at the club brayered the ink on the other side of the embossing folder (the side with the indented image), and it looked really cool too! The raised image turned out white with shaded Eggplant around it.

To finish the card, I stamped the image from Oval All in Eggplant, punched it with the Large Oval punch and layered that on a Scalloped Oval piece of Eggplant cardstock. We attached the piece with dimensionals and layered it onto some more Elegant Eggplant cardstock before adhering it to the Basic Black card base.

Sending Love and Flowers!

On Monday, my Big Shot club met to make a few projects. One of them was this Flower Pot card. I've been wanting to try this card for quite some time, ever since my friend, Treena, gave me one that she had made! I think they're just adorable! And they're surprisingly easy to make.

I used Soft Suede cardstock for the pot, wrapped with Real Red polka dot 5/8" grosgrain ribbon. I used the Sale-A-Bration Scallop Border punch on the rim.

The flowers are made with the Blossom Party die and Sending Love (gorgeous sparkly!) designer series paper. I added a few Certainly Celery 5 Petal punched "leaves" and some 3/4" circles in Real Red and Pretty in Pink for the flower centers. The tag is stamped with Well Scripted in Real Red, then punched with the Scalloped Oval punch and a Wide Oval punch of Pretty in Pink to layer it on.

I made a whole bunch of these for a swap I'm in, so I hope the ladies like it!

All-Day Scrap

On Saturday, my church hosted its ninth annual all-day scrap. I am one of the organizers, so it has been a busy month getting ready for this! We basically take over the church for the day! Each lady gets her own table with lots of gifts, and we have hourly door prize draws, music, continental brunch, a catered supper (this year was southwest chicken with rice and spinach salad - yummy!) and a huge door prize draw at the end of the night. We go from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. I was so exhausted after this weekend, but it was a blast!

Here's the before shot from Friday night after we finished setting up.

Here we are Saturday, going full tilt!

Our theme was "Ever After", so for table gifts, we chose a lot of princess-y things (glitter, sparkly Sending Love designer series paper, a tiara, princess book, chocolate, Crystal Light and water)!

For our hourly door prize draws, the ladies could choose from items on this table.

All in all, a great day! I did get some work done, though not as much as I would have liked! I'll post some of what I did this week...

January Scrapbook Club Layout

I'm very excited to be having Scrapbook Club again tonight after taking a break over Christmas. It's been almost two months since we've met as a group, so it will be nice to see everyone again after the holiday.

As promised, we'll be doing a layout featuring the new Sweet Pea designer series paper and the matching Sweet Pea Stitched Felt pieces. I saw a similar layout in a magazine, and thought this paper would be perfect for a "patchwork"-type layout since there's so much paper in the package!

I used Taken with Teal as the base for the layout, but I also have Rose Red and So Saffron available for the ladies to choose from in case they want to make it more girlie or neutral! I used Chocolate Chip as an accent colour, with photo mats, 5/8" grosgrain ribbon and a piece that is punched with the new Sale-A-Bration Scallop Trim Border punch (can you believe you can get it for free?!).

A Little Birdie...

I got to play with some of my new Occasions Mini Catalogue stuff a few weeks ago, and I'm finally getting a chance to post this!

This card uses the new Bird and a Branch punch (love the new punch style!). I punched the bird with Not Quite Navy Patterns designer paper and the branches with Mellow Moss Patterns designer paper. It's a pretty simple card! Again, it's amazing how easy it is to make a card with some designer paper and punches! I finished it off with some Night of Navy ribbon.

My Christmas Card (A Little Late!)

This is another one of the cards I made for Christmas this year (and mailed out well after New Years!). I decided to go much simpler this year with my cards since I had to make close to 200 this year. Last year I had embossing on my card, and it took forever to finish them all!

I used the Holy Family stamp set with Soft Suede ink to match the Christmas Cocoa designer series paper. I sponged Champagne Shimmer Paint over the stamped image.

My MDS Christmas Card

This is one of the Christmas cards I made this year to send out. I used My Digital Studio to create the card. I LOVE this digital program. Wow! Is it ever easy to design and create cards, layouts, calendars and multimedia projects. You can move things around, change colours, add and remove elements, all without wasting any paper or embellishments!

After I designed the card, which uses the digital version of Christmas Cocoa designer series paper and the Delightful Decorations stamp set, I printed it out from my computer on Whisper White cardstock. I cut it out to 4 x 5 1/4", then wrapped some Real Red grosgrain ribbon around the middle. I added a gold brad to the center of the ornament, then adhered the whole thing to a Real Red card base. Super easy!

December's Stamp Club Projects (Oops!)

I know I am completely late posting these, and my clubs have already made these cards, but I thought I would post them anyway because I like them!

We made this Spring Card using Christmas Cocoa designer series paper and Dasher stamped in Soft Suede. We added some sparkle to his antlers with chunky glitter and stamped a little "very merry" from Short & Sweet in Real Red.

This second card uses dazzling diamond dust technique. I stamped the tree from Snow Swirled in Always Artichoke on Mellow Moss paper, then used my stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp over it again with VersaMark (you could also just stamp it once in craft ink, but I didn't have any!). Then I embossed it with Iridescent Ice embossing powder. The mat for the tree piece is Always Artichoke, and I covered the edges with VersaMark and embossed them with Iridescent Ice as well to make it sparkle! The circle is cut with my Circle Scissors plus (I think it's 5"). Then I wrapped some silver elastic cord and added a little snowflake circle (3/4" layered on 1") with some Dazzling Diamonds glitter in the middle.

This final card uses the Tree Trimmings set. I almost missed this set in the catalogue because it is on the Christmas Collection page! But once I found it, I had to have it! I think it's so cute! We stamped two ornaments in Old Olive on the Very Vanilla piece (with ticket corners punched out). The main ornament is stamped in Bravo Burgundy from the Delightful Decorations stamp set and punched with the ornament punch. We added a rhinestone brad through the center, along with some gold elastic cord. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, punched with the Word Window punched and layered on a Bravo Burgundy Modern Label punched piece.

I think the ladies liked them! I'll try to stay more up-to-date with my posts from now on (but no promises!).

Sweet Pea

I absolutely LOVE this Sweet Pea designer series paper (and you get so much in a pack! 48 sheets!) It is so bright and fun, and it goes perfectly with the Sweet Pea Stitched Felt pieces. I am planning on using this paper and these felt pieces in my Scrapbook Club this month, so stay tuned for a layout featuring them!

For this card, I used Rose Red as the card base, paired with Pretty in Pink as a mat. I added the Sweet Pea dsp and did some faux stitching using my mat pack, paper piercer and a Rose Red Stampin' Write marker.

After that, I just added the Sweet Pea stitched felt pieces with some mini glue dots and stamped a little sentiment using Teeny Tiny Wishes.

And voila! Quick and easy!

January Big Shot Club Projects

My Big Shot Club is meeting tonight, and here are the projects we'll be making.

I received one of these adorable Top Note purses last year as a gift from Susan Paterson at a stamping retreat hosted by my upline, and I've been dying to make it with a group! This is the perfect opportunity as the group is only six people, so we'll have the time and supplies to make it feasible! I am totally CASEing Susan with this one! There is also a great tutorial here.

For this purse, I used the faux alligator skin technique on Whisper White paper to make it look like an alligator skin purse. To do this, you cut the Top Note on the Big Shot, cover it with VersaMark ink and pour clear embossing powder over the whole piece. Then use a bone folder to make squiggly lines horizontally and vertically through the powder before you heat set it. After the lines are in, heat set it and you'll have a great faux alligator look. I did this on three top notes pieces to make the purse. It's finished off with some Soft Suede polka dot ribbon, a Pretties flower and a Chocolate Chip corduroy button.

The second project is a quicky because the purse will take a bit of time. We're going to make fridge magnets! I found some magnetic sheets at a craft store and cut them into smaller pieces (about 3 x 3 1/2"). I then cut some Kaleidoscope designer series paper the same size and adhered it to the magnet. Then I ran the piece through my Big Shot with the Beautiful Butterflies die. Finally, to embellish, I added a smaller butterfly piece of Kaleidoscope paper. I put some silver elastic cord "antennae" on the back with a dimensional and used that to adhere it to the big butterfly. To finish, I added some silver microbeads using Tombow Multipurpose adhesive. I'm sorry the photo didn't turn out very well - hopefully you get the gist of it!

January Stamp Club Projects

Happy New Year Everyone!

It has been a long time since I've had a chance to do some stamping or posting. It's been a crazy few months. We put our house up for sale last June and have been busy cleaning and hoping for it to sell. It hasn't sold, but we've decided to start building our new house anyway, so now it's been a whirlwind of deciding what flooring, lighting, paint, cabinetry, etc. we want in the new house, along with school, workshops, stamp clubs, church, Awana, Bible study, and all those other activities, I've barely had time to think, let alone stamp! Maybe if I didn't spend so much time on Facebook...

So over the Christmas holiday, I at least had one afternoon of stamping. I've planned my January club projects (ahead of time too!). They all feature products from the new Occasions Mini Catalogue. Here's what we're making:

I completely CASEd this card by Michelle Zindorf. When I saw it on Splitcoast, I knew I had to make it! What a unique technique. I've never seen this before, and I know my Stamp Club ladies will love it! I used Apricot Appeal, More Mustard, Dusty Durango and Real Red Ink, along with the new Vintage Vogue stamp set in Basic Black ink. Michelle gives a wonderful tutorial on this technique, so check out her blog if you want to see how.

This second card is a matchbook post-its holder based on this tutorial on Splitcoast. I wanted to make it more Valentine-y so I used the Love Bandit stamp set. The image is stamped in Basic Black with Melon Mambo sponged around the edges. I coloured this little guy in with my In Color Stampin' Write markers.

I have not used Melon Mambo very often, so I thought it was time to christen that ink pad and paper package! I paired it with some Razzleberry Lemonade designer series paper, Basic Black and Black gingham ribbon. The eyelet border punch makes a great edge at the bottom of the matchbook, and I punched a little slot with the Horizontal Slot punch to tuck in one of the eyelet border pieces so the book stays closed.

This third card is yet another CASE, of this card by Debbie Naylor. I thought it was just stunning when I saw it on Splitcoast. I used Pretty in Pink with Rich Razzleberry, along with Rich Razzleberry polka dot ribbon.

I used the Elegant Bouquet Textured Impressions folder with my Big Shot for the top layer, adding some purple Fine Cosmo glitter in the center of the flowers.

The heart stamp is from the I {Heart} Hearts stamp set, punched with the Full Heart punch. There is a paper clip behind the heart, attached with a dimensional, that I tied the ribbon around. The sentiment is from Well Scripted, stamped in Razzleberry.

I just noticed that it's been awhile since I posted something! Just a quick post today. I have stamp club tonight and I need to get ready for that!

This is a journal I made as a hostess gift. It uses the Cottage Wall designer series paper with the Great Friend stamp set.

I really hope to have some time over the Christmas holidays to do some stamping "just for fun" (not that it all isn't fun, but it seems I'm always stamping for workshops or clubs!), so I'll post those over the holidays.

My blog-friend, Diane (ddnjoys2stamp) has finally received word that she will be getting a liver transplant! She has been waiting for a loooooong time for this, and I'm so thrilled for her that she will soon be in much better health. Please pray for her as she is on her way to London, Ontario, to have the surgery. From what I understand, her niece, Shannon, will be updating us on Diane's blog. I'm sure many of you are familiar with Diane - she is an avid crafter, blogger and encourager. She is just an amazing person, and I'm so happy for her!

Stamp-a-Stack Cards

I've been pretty busy this November with lots of different activities, including some stamp-a-stacks! This is the time of year people want to book a party where they get to make a bunch of Christmas cards to send out. Here are some of the cards I've done at my stamp-a-stacks so far.

This one uses the Petals-A-Plenty Impressions Folder and the Season of Joy stamp set.

For this one, I stamped the Patterned Pines stamp in Soft Suede and dabbed Champagne Shimmer Paint over the trees. I also used the Christmas Cocoa designer series paper.

I totally CASEd this snowman card - I forget who from, so if it's you, please let me know and I'll give you credit! Below, I adapted it to use the Cold & Cuddly stamp set (less colouring!).

For this one, I used the Delightful Decorations in Glorious Green, Real Red and Crushed Curry. The red decoration is punched from the flocked paper in the Christmas Cocoa designer series pack. I also used the Sparkle & Shine jumbo wheel.

November Scrapbook Club Layout

Look how on the ball I am this month: I actually have my Scrapbook Club layout planned and posted more than a week before our club meeting!

We will be making this Christmas layout using the Christmas Cocoa flocked snowflake designer paper. I added some Real Red as a complementary colour. On the first page, I used the eyelet border punch to make fancy corners on the red mat piece. The title piece is the "Join in the Cheer" decorative strip die. On the second page, I used the Snowflake Stampin' Around wheel with Whisper White craft ink on the border piece at the bottom. I stamped some snowflakes from Serene Snowflakes in the top right corner to balance out the flocked snowflakes on the first page. I added some chunky glitter in the centers of the stamped snowflakes. Then I used the Snowflake punch with Brushed Gold, Soft Suede and Vellum cardstock to make the other snowflakes on the page.

This month's Stamp Club is all about Christmas! I am so excited to be making Christmas cards again, and I have to share the excitement!

This first card uses some non-traditional colours (Bravo Burgundy, Pretty in Pink, Shimmery White). I CASEd it from a card made by Lorna Raczynski. I also used Frost White Shimmer Paint on the snowflakes (which are made with the Snowflakes Sizzlits 4-Pack and my Big Shot) and around the edge of the pink part. The center part of the card has a snowflakes window sheet and some snowflakes from Christmas Punch stamped behind it in Bravo Burgundy. I also wrapped some silver elastic cord around the card.

This second card is one I've already posted, but I wanted to make it at Stamp Club as well. It uses polished stone technique with Brocade Blue, Bashful Blue, Pale Plum and silver reinkers. I embossed the snowflakes from Serene Snowflakes on the polished stone background in silver. To finish, I used the Snowflake punch to make a vellum and silver snowflake and attached those with a clear rhinestone brad. There's also some Whisper White organdy ribbon wrapped around and the sentiment from Four the Holidays stamped in Night of Navy.

This final card is another CASE, this time of a card by Christy Harsch. The photo is doesn't quite show it properly, but the poinsettia is made of two Ruby Red and one Garden Green 5-Petal Flower punches. I didn't notice that the green one had turned before I took the photo, so you can't really see it! It's supposed to be offsetting the flower so it looks like leaves in the background!

Anyway, I also used the Scallop Edge punch and the Heard from the Heart stamp set for this one.
